- Grenades vanish after death
- Grenades don’t vanish after death
It seems to me like grenades you throw just before death vanish a lot, not sure if this is a netcode issue or not ,but it seems quite unfair in my opinion. Anybody else seeing this? or is it just me?
As for the poll since some people don’t understand what is the game suppose to do? or what do you think it should do?

All the time, brings out the rage, just like unregistered melee and shot around corners.
I personally haven’t seen it, but I think that there is a short animation that plays to throw the nade…if it doesn’t finish I don’t think the nade is put into play.
Should they? Nah. When they do it’s probably because server-side you died before they were thrown. There’s a delay between when you push the button to start the animation and when they actually come out.
I would hope that the game handles it well in modes like Infection. In Halo: Reach if I have a grenade it’s possible to grief the human team. If I throw a grenade at my teammates (or fire a rocket) just before I get infected, then that grenade suddenly switches teams and can infect the human players. I’ve done this a few times. I’ve gotten triple kills from it! The reverse is also true if I throw a grenade at my feet to kill some infected players post-death. Sometimes a lack of friendly fire makes that grenade do nothing and other times it counts as a betrayal.
So I hope infinite keeps that grenade in the air and doesn’t switch which team it was thrown by.
Your question asks if they “should” but the options in the poll and your remarks seem to be asking if players have experienced it. Could you please clarify?
Put the word “Should” in front of both options… the option you pick is simply wich one happens. I really shouldn’t have to explain it it’s fairly simple…
Or the classic sticking someone and as you die it fades away - that was an issue in H3 as well.
oh really? never noticed that
No just nades are effected too. its quite frustrating when you want to trade but just lose the exchange.
No, it’s confusing. Are you asking which option we think should happen, or which option does happen?
For me, grenades should not disappear, but it does happen frequently to me.

Thanks for clarifying in your OP.
Even if they aren’t thrown fully, whenever I hear the pin removed it’s a little jarring when nothing happens. Those grenades shouldn’t be inactive anymore.
In my viewpoint, when a grenade has been tossed, it should act independently from the person who has tossed it. If the individual who threw the grenade died, then it shouldn’t affect the grenade any other different way than if any other individual dies in the battlefield.
I remember, and prefer, the old days where at a certain point in the animation grenades went live and would just drop on death as a surprise present.

Nades remaining active after death is one of the few ways to get the “from the grave” medal, assuming they still even have that medal.
Either way it should stay, don’t fix what isn’t broken.
It happens frequently but no all the time. The worse is when I see it bounce right at their feet and then it doesn’t explode. Drives me up the wall.

Someone literally melee killed me from brutes on live fire while I was standing on the platform above it. Not even remotely close. I’m done playing after that. I had a guy snipe me with no sniper ammo and bullet reg is a joke. I have so many clips. This game is not good.
They do still have that medal i’m a master at getting it at least i was in halo 3 due to the vanishing or ‘dud’ grenade i tend to not get it as often in infinite but when i know i’m going to die i tend to toss a grenade in the general direction i think the enemy is going to go or at my feet which tends to kill them…
That sniper ammo thing is probably a bug in theater mode. If you count the shots in theater you should see the real amount. There are also de-sync issues in the game right now which could have caused that wild melee gap.
