Should they have included new weapons?

I love the Halo:Anniversary campaign, and how faithful it is to the original, and I love how they added skulls (my favorite being Bandana; I wish I had this skull in Halo 4), but don’t you think they should’ve added some new weapons or even vehicles?

Specifically, the Fuel Rod Gun and Flamethrower; I know these weapons were in the original PC versions multiplayer, it would’ve been nice to have them in the Anniverary campaign. I heard of one guy who modded his PC version to get the Flamethrower into the campaign; apparently it works wonders on the Flood.

I also saw a video, a long time ago, of a heavily modded version of Halo:Combat Evolved PC which included (among other things) a Battle Rifle with an under-barrel grenade launcher. Seriously, how awesome would that be? Thoughts?

The entire purpose and goal of Anniversary was to be extremely faithful to the original title. Skulls were pretty much the most they touched with its code, the rest was just pretty graphics layered on top.

If they were doing a remake, perhaps some new stuff could have been cool. But for the remaster, it should be as close to the original as possible, and they did that.

Technically, the Fuel Rod gun was in the campaign. You just couldn’t pick it up and use it.

Like the other guy said, the purpose of Halo CEA was for the game to remain the same gameplay wise, just with graphically updated skins. This is so it was just like playing the original from 2001, with all the same mechanics, physics and game engine, just with a HD remastering of the graphics.

No offense to the original modder, but I’m a modder and it, quite frankly, is easy to put multi-player weapons in the campaign.

Maybe if it was an option to have the updated weapons and such then thatd be cool

Lacking nearly all of the multiplayer maps is NOT even CLOSE to the code.

As for the BR, that was a Halo Custom Edition mod. There are so many cool maps for that.

Honestly I really enjoyed playing CEA for a halo that isn’t dominated by the BR/DMR.

Its weapon sandbox is smaller, but its weapons are more unique to eachother and have their own uses beyond just range.

BR’s with attached grenade launchers haven’t been in any halo game without mods, I don’t see why a game honouring the start of the franchise would include them.
