yes or no that is the question
Meh, it was the interesting weapon and perhaps the only bright spot about Halo Reach but honestly it’s not that well designed. Not when we have rocket launchers making the weaker, bouncier version moot. Now if we had the grenade launcher instead of super-sonic-win-sticks then you might have something but as your typical Halo sandbox stands the GL just doesn’t have much of a place.

Its just very inconsistent, difficult to use, and not too fun to use in my opinion.
No, it was a bad weapon over all, not to mention it was deliberately stolen from CoD and changed so it would be “cool” and a “pro tube”. Bungie sure seemed to love their CoD…
Damage was really low, ammo low, projectiles bounced randomly, EMP effect way to narrow and after all, we already got rockets, spartan, plasma launcher, fuel rod and now a railgun, grenade launcher serves no purpose.
Especially since grenade launchers are supposed to be mortar style, bombardment form above in a steep angle, not “in your face” shotgun style gun. If it returns, I would like to see more of a wraith-shot equivalent, a true grenade launcher, with a few different rounds for different effect (EMP, explosive etc).
If it isn’t returning, the Railgun just might take its place in a sense (if my theories are correct).
This shocks me.
I got on this thread just to say, “hasn’t it been agreed? Everyone loves the grenade launcher.”
It’s different than the Rocket Launcher. It’s an anti-camping tool. A true one. That you can bounce around corners and when used right is an insta kill. It has more ammo and an EMP affect that if you don’t kill an opponent, you’re precision wielding teammate will.
Difficult to use? That’s what makes it great. It’s really not all that satisfying to hit somebody with a rocket, but by George if you bounced a grenade around a corner or simply nailed a dude in the face with one if you didn’t giggle like a school girl then you have no soul.
I EXPECT 343i to return us the grenade launcher.
If anything, just make it more useful in campaign. Way more useful.

In case you haven’t seen the railgun yet, however most people have, here you go!
There was nothing wrong with it, and it had quite the learning curve to it. Plus you were able to do a lot with it in Custom Games. I guess people never really took the time to practice with it to enjoy it.
And now the yesses are taking over . . . Whew . . .

where was it agree’d upon that everyone likes it
Isn’t the new grenade launcher the handgun from the trailer?
> Isn’t the new grenade launcher the handgun from the trailer?
I hope not. It lacks originality, and has a rather dull concept (if you ask me).

Multiple previous threads where most fans seemed to agree, the one great thing coming out of Reach was the Grenade Launcher.
The GL was one of the only things good to come out of Halo Reach. I’d like them to keep it, if at least for the fact that putting it on a map instead of a Rocket Launcher immediately helps the game be less noob friendly.
Maps without vehicles should generally use it instead as a rule.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a handgun that shoots grenades, I think its pretty original. But I would prefer something closer to a rifle.
They’re removing it?
HERESY!
I really liked the grenade launcher. I think it needs a tad more base damage, but overall it’s good.
The grenade launcher is fun as hell once you get use to it, so -Yoink- yeah.

The one thing I hated about the GL was that it needed to be so accurate to do any real damage, and it needed profound timing, it had to be at the person, not a foot in front, not a foot behind, it had to almost touch to do real damage.

We’re you using it’s alternative fire? It’s weaker if you use it that way.
The best thing about Reach is the grenade launcher. I hope it returns, having the skill to use it is what makes it great.
