Should there be brutes in future Halo games?

I personally think there should be

Yes. They should have a variety of non-armored and armored brutes like Halo Reach, and they should speak English again.

“You killed my lover!”

Also, their weapons were awesome (except for the spiker).

Absolutely! I don’t think their race died out or anything, so I’m sure they will have some role in future events.

I consider them pretty essential and well established. Ignoring them would be ignoring a sigificant part of Halo universe.

Brutes should return. Just so long as they’re not like they were in Halo 2. I still have nightmares…

Just thinking of the beginning of the mission “Gravemind” in Halo 2 gives me day-nightmares.

I think they should be in Halo 5 or Halo 6, as they are an important part of Halo lore.

Of course !

Do I want them. Hell yeah but the real question is if we will get them. How will they contribute to the story of whatever game they are in? 343i shouldn’t just stick them in for the hell of it and say hey go kill some brutes. They need to have an impact on the story

Unlike reach basically lol.

I would love Brutes to be back. I miss them.

I might be the only one but I voted no. I strongly dislike the Jiralhanae. Can’t seem to find a proper reason for that, but I just dislike them.

So long as they have plot relevance and receive a tech downgrade, I don’t see why not. The former is rather difficult, though, as it seems they’re mostly just hitting each other with sticks on Doisac at the moment.

I agree with many others here, I don’t want them shoehorned in for fun factor.

The brutes have a thing for infighting if the are without a clear direction. With the destabilization of the Covenant, we may not see them again.

I miss them too but I like how 343 have handled the story so far.

Possibly, maybe if we can go to their homeworld. Or if we do go to the other side of Sanghelios were they have brute slaves, I think we might find dead bodies or berserk brutes.

As long if there not in a campaign like halo 2 cause even on normal I got killed a lot felt like legendary

Best thing about brutes are chieftens with grav hammer, and basicly there weapon / vechile set is amazing and i miss it so.
Prity sure everyone loved the brute chopper, love to see that come back, and ofc the grav hammer. so yes, yes plz bring them back soon

What about Brute player models? Or is that too much wishful thinking?

Only if it makes sense. I don’t want them shoehorned in for variety’s sake.

I would not mind Brutes returning as enemies or as peaceful characters. But there is one rule…
Brutes should not be working with Jul Madama, or any Elite lead post war covenant splinter faction. Brutes and Elites rivalry is a large part of Halo’s lore, if they work together not only will it neglect past lore, but it will be as if Halo 2 never happened.
During the Human Covenant war, when Brutes and Elites were in the Covenant together, they rarely got along. There was always feirce competition between the two. When the great schism of Halo 2 happened, and the Brutes replaced the Elites, the Elites had nothing but hatred for the Brutes. The Covenant civil war began and the Prophet of Truth ordered the Brutes to kill all Elites in the covenant. Brutes and Elites shed each others blood increasing the hatred they have for each other. The Elites even joined forces with the humans, they rather that than make peace with the Brutes.
After the war. The Elites started a genocidal campaign against the Brute’s homeworld.
Elites and Brutes hate each other more than they hate humans. If they are shown working together that will contradict Halo’s lore. The only reasonable peace I can see happening is the Arbiter (because he is so chill) and Lydus making peace.
Yes, I know glasslands had Brutes slaves to Elites on their homeworld, but I see it as the author not being aware of some aspects of the Halo universe. But even in glasslands Brutes and Elites did not get along, they were slaves to the Elites. Not allies. I do not want to see Brutes and Elites working together in any post war covenant faction. That would neglect the events of Halo 2.

I get the impression that 343i might lump Brutes and Elites in the same faction to keep gameplay simple, but if they do that it will mess with lore. Please 343i, do not sacrifice lore for gameplay. Preserve the gameplay but make work arounds so it stays true to the lore. Keep Brutes and Elites in separate factions.
If the Brutes return as peaceful and not enemies to humans, that is fine. If they return as enemies (for gameplay purposes), that is fine. I’m not saying Brutes cannot and should not return. I think they should. But if they do, they should return in a lore friendly way. So long as they are in their own faction and not working with Elites. Vice versa with Elites.

^^ That. Maybe have the Arbiter be attacked by brutes while he’s helping Locke.
