I’d like a option, particularly in campaign, so if we get warthog runs, it would add more difficulty to finishing it without failing. Since you couldn’t see your gunner, maybe have the return of the passenger health system from CE. What do you guys think?
I don’t see why not in the case of the Campaign and customs, though I’m unsure about it’s use in online multiplayer.
Would be good in a hornet or scorpion.
Overall though it’s not really good.
very curious as to what it looks like inside a banshee and scorpion.
I suppose it would be cool in Custom Games and Campaign. I wouldn’t want it to be in Matchmaking because I feel like it could be exploited someway (people always find a way). However, I wouldn’t want it to take development time away from something that would otherwise be beneficial to the game experience.
There just isn’t a good reason to include an inferior control option. That said, I am fine with more first person positions such as side gunners on Falcons and all passenger positions(maybe not the mongoose but IDK).
I voted yes but anyone wanting to use the first person view in a vehicle should have to sign a wavier to cover people getting motion sickness from it and vomiting on their controllers and televisions.
I voted no. There is no easy way to make first person driving precise enough to work in halo IMO. The vehicles just don’t respond the same as those popular racing games. Also, without having a preset destination (racing games) it would be very difficult to do wide turns and know how close you are to obstacles and cliffs. As a seasoned warthog driver, I vote to keep it the way it is.
I voted yes, if people have a problem with it they could always toggle it off. That being said I would love to use a warthog turret in first person.

I wonder if it would be toggleable though. After all, nothing else in Halo has a toggleable first person view to third person view or vice versa.

I don’t know if people would get the same effect by looking at a screen, they may, but I think it would only affect them if they were in a real car though, anyways I agree, safety first!
As an option, sure.
Hopefully people will realize why it’s not such a great idea after experiencing it for themselves.
Honestly, I’d find it fun to have first person everything (Vehicles, assassinations, spartan charge) just for a little more immersion, but as long they are all separate options. I would play it for maybe 4 or 5 games then go back to normal. There are many 3rd person advantages to these things. you get a glance at what happens around you. A first person tank would always lose because anyone could sneak up from behind and plant a grenade without them seeing. And you cant tell me you’ve never checked behind you during an assassination so you don’t die immediately (Separate issue, but the same concept).

My immediate reaction to these threads is that people must not enjoy being able to see while driving.
Yeah… I guess I can respect that. Maybe they should add this.
Just like with this smart scope nonsense it doesn’t actually do anything to improve gameplay, while it does do a couple things to damage it with vision loss as an example.
At this point I’m tired of seeing this game evolve into a “modern” fps with all this crap being added in. I’d really like to keep the game at least looking like a true halo game, and considering how important vehicles are to the identity of halo I feel that messing with them would change this game into something else even faster
I would like it, the only problem would be I am not too sure how I would control a vehicle like that …

If they make the game so you drive in 1rst person, it WILL be better than the mods you think of.
Why not?
First Person for vehicles.
Third Person for walking around.
I am not a big MP-Player, but a satellite view on the whole map would be great while you are waiting for respawn. (Were you see all your mates and all spotted enemies by them).
As an option like y axis inversion it would be awesome.
in games like GTA and half life 2 1st person vehicles are easier for me to control because I can better tell where I am headed and it also improves the immersive Experience.
as far as not being able to see around you…good. You should not be able to do that anyway, its kind of a cheat.
