Should there be a 'halo xbox one' beta?

Games such as battlefield, crysis and Halo:Reach had betas,so,should halo xbox one?

in my opinion there should be, may be just a quick mission on the campaign or even a matchmaking beta?

Bungie done this with Reach and most halo players enjoyed it.

What’s your opinion?

Well, it depends on what Halo: Xbox One is if you ask me. If it’s just a single player spinoff, then no. But if it’s a Multiplayer Halo for sure. There should be some prerequisite to getting in though.

Yes. We don’t want another DMR debacle in Halo 5

Exactly, the community needs to be able to make balancing choices so the game won’t have any major unbalances at launch.

For multiplayer yeah. People seem to get bitchy otherwise.

If there’s multiplayer, then definitely. There were many issues with Halo 4 that could’ve been fixed if there’d been a beta. Even if a beta delays the game for a few months, it’ll be worth it.

Because of a lack of a beta, It was up to a developer team that was brought together from non Arena Based games to make a Matchmaking system and experience for people who wanted a Halo Arena Shooter.

Instead we got what we have.

A Class Based game that was Bugged out for 7 month, matchmaking experience with broken weapon systems and a serious lack of the core gaming experience we have been used to.

You people don’t understand BETA!

There is an ALPHA build before that, the beta is the version that is going to basically launch.

They have a much larger variety this time around for the Alpha build testing. Many of them are known gamers in the Halo community, so that’s what they need to do. They are already having some onsite to Q&As and so forth. They still aren’t calling it HALO, but they are looking for feedback.

If they released a BETA and everyone demanded changes, you do understand that’s like throwing away 6-10 months of possible work right and not to mention extra man hours.

I don’t want a BETA, I wan the top teams to be invited to multiple ALPHA build tests.

Players can say what they want about competitive gamers, but if you design a game to be competitive, it will instantly be fun. Those that want a more casual experience can easier modify settings to achieve this. It would take far less work to take something competitive and convert it to causal than to take a causal game and convert it into competitive.

Everyone knows, when you play MM, you want to win and you want to beat the other team heads up. Sorry, to burst your bubble, THAT’S A COMPETITIVE PLATFORM!

There have to be beta’s for all new Halo games from now on or Halo will die.

It all depends on WHAT Halo game will be released in 2014, either a spin-off or Halo 5.

But if it turns out to be Halo 5, there should definitely be a beta. And a beta would kinda determine some peoples decision on whether or not they’d get the next Halo game, which would be good because some people had mixed feelings about Halo 4.

YES,

Beta can allow developers to fix the games major issues before launch.

Halo 3 and REACH were both great for this.

BF public beta’s are more for server testing, than weapon balance. But Halo 3 and REACH beta, as were done 6 months before launch allowed Bungie to fix problems and balance.

Bungie even wanted to try break the game, so they could fix. I remember Bungie saying that it was impossible to get out of the maps in Halo 3. In the Beta, we were able to get out of maps. Bungie fixed this for launch.

Beta’s are great, and make you feel you had some input into the final game.

Apparently you’re mistaken, the ALPHA builds are for what the key concept ideas are and the fundamentals are put into place. After that it goes into phase two where more intricate things are added like placeholder models and once that is done than the BETA phase begins.

Which is where players are invited to test or demo for feedback, that feedback is tossed around the table and discussed about. Usually when a beta happens like Halo: Reach’s the developers set future time to implement anything that is necessary to better feedback.

Doesn’t matter either way, the PROs that were invited to 343, were told “No BETA WILL BE DEVELOPED FOR THE PUBLIC”

We have a Halo 5 Beta, it’s called Halo 4. It was 343i’s first Halo game and they are aware of all the mistakes they made and continue to tweak and update the game to make things better. I would expect that knowledge to be implemented into the next game as well.
