I thought it would be a great idea for 343 to make a Classic playlist for Halo 5’s matchmaking, for all of those who hate perks and ordnance. Of course there would still be all of the other playlist, but this would be another choice.
The Classic playlist would have these things:
No perks
No ordnance
No heavy vehicles(ex. Scorpions, Banshees)
No personal loadouts
No “death spots” places where everyone goes just to get killed
Yes, yes, I had this idea too! Maybe more than one though, like a Classic Slayer and Classic Objective.
But I keep saying, I don’t want Halo 5 Multiplayer to be entirely old news. Yes, Classic was fun. and yes I’d like to see it return, but we need new things as well. I don’t want Halo 5 to be the multiplayer rerun.
I’m just saying, if I want to play some Classic, I’ll buy the ever-so-evident Halo 2 Anniversary that’s coming out this year.
I hope that Halo 5 won’t need a classic playlist to begin with. Halo 2 and 3 didn’t.
If it’s really just that different, a classic playlist would be good so that those who reluct or refuse to adopt the new settings can have a place to go. We don’t want a repeat of Halo: Reach and Halo 4.

Agreed,
Just a Ranked and Social that have the same settings.
As long as matchmaking settings are for a Competitive Arena Shooter and is FUN, then we all win.
We just need the one set of settings for RANKED and SOCIAL that are ARENA SHOOTER settings. That provide great gameplay and hours and hours of FUN.
However, Options should be available in Game Settings to get your INFINITY or Classic Feel, FOR CUSTOM GAMES ONLY. When it comes to match making, we shouldn’t be splitting the community with Classic and Infinity playlist.

This is what I can get behind.
A Halo game that simply works and can have a consistent and defined identity as a Halo game instead of attempting to be mish-mash of everything before it is what I’d like to see instead of lines being drawn in the game’s population.
I want a classic Halo and not a playlist. A playlist is so far away from being enough. You may find Infinity Slayer in Action Sack where it belongs to.
NO.
Halo 5 need to be Halo 5. When Halo 4 tried to be two games at once it failed, because neither the “classic modes” nor the infinity mode quite hit the spot. Halo 5 need to only focus on being Halo 5; whatever that may be.

Totally agree Mega.
H2/H3 were very simple compared to HR/H4.
It was the great gameplay and maps why these two games were successful. Both having Ranked and Social Playlist also helped.
Really? We know NOTHING about Halo 5: Guardians’ gameplay and people are already demanding a “classic” playlist? The Halo community is spoiled by the amount of options and customization the franchise has accumulated over the years. Halo 5’s playlist focus should be Halo 5’s gameplay (first). Within that parameter, there are plenty of choices for people to pick from based on their preference, like it is with Halo 4 wherein Halo 4’s designed gameplay applies. Down the line, if there’s enough of a demand for it, then sure, 343 should add a playlist containing gameplay reminiscent of “classic” Halo (the definition of which I am sure there are as many differing opinions of as the people who are asked), but Halo 5’s designed gameplay should always be the foremost focus of current and post-launch development.

I think the point Monkey, is what people want H5 Gameplay to be.
I don’t want classic, but I definitely don’t want Infinity. I want Halo to be an Arena Shooter taking the “CLASSIC” gameplay that made it great, but improving on this.
I can think of just 5 changes required to H4 and you have a much better game, possibly better than H2/H3.
