Should the UNSC adopt alien weapon tech?

I know per the story lore that we’ve already adopted alien tech like shielding and forerunner engines for the Infinity but I always thought it kind of odd that so far in the future humanity would still be using gunpowder for it projectiles and diesel for its vehicles.

How would people feel if the default battle rifle in Infinite used hard light? Would that be weird? Should we keep weapons tech firmly segregated by faction?

What’s that armor that is made by the snaghelli for the UNSC spartan-ivs?

Helioskrull?

Tech is already merging. UNSC has different alien attachments going on and the needle hog is a thing. Also the Hannibal vehicles seem like a rough step in forerunner tech but humanized. I feel a small transition is happening just not drastic until humanity takes the mantle

They don’t use diesel they use hydrogen as fuel. I guess they still use gunpowder because if it ain’t broke don’t fix it kinda mindset. I mean today we have the technology and capacity to make hand held energy weapons but cost of production and energy efficiency are what hold it back. People have made hand held gauss and rail guns (granted they’re not very strong) on YouTube and a fully funded military research lab could do better but there’s no real reason to other than “this looks cool” which is a shame because it would be cool

Lore wise it would make sense but I’d rather humans stick with the style they have, it helps distinguish the factions and keep identity.

Maybe some prototype weapons could appear, with needle hogs turret being 1 possibility as a big gun.

Would kill the “human” element they try to maintain for their weapons but it wouldn’t be a bad idea. But I personally prefer the human weapons over all the others (except the plasma pistol, that’s quite useful).
