Hey guys,
Just want to know your opinion on the Sabre from Halo Reach and if you would like it to return in Halo 4 or not?
Personally i think the Sabre was a great vehicle and it helped us understand more about space combat in the Halo Universe. So I think it would be a great addition to Halo 4 if they bring it back either in Halo 4 or in another of the upcoming Halo games.
I would also like to see it in Multiplayer, and i know you readers will be like “How can they do that” and I think I know how…
Multiplayer Space Combat:
It has been talked a lot on the Forums and i think we should look more into it. In my opinion i think Halo fans would love the idea of Multiplayer Space Combat because it is something very unique to halo and a lot of other games. I dont know how this will work yet but i will probably post a Forum about the rules and everything if you guys like this idea.
Yes, that would be cool.
To bad that bungie cut multiplayer space combat out of the game
before Halo Reach went gold.
Bungie showed some clips with multiplayer space combat
but they didn’t put it into the final release.
Space combat yes…Sabre’s not likely
The Sabre is a pretty terrible vehicle IMO. I’d much rather pilot a Longsword. I think the only advantages it had over the Longsword was that it had shields and that it was probably more manouvrable. Everything else, the Longsword does better.
as long as it doesn’t appear in campaign. same with the flood.
My bad didn’t read the post just read title. lol I don’t care if it returns.
I would love for space combat to return in campaign and I’d love it to be added to multiplayer and firefight as well. That said, I hope they don’t use the Sabre. It wasn’t terrible but they can do better. Also, give the ship a proper HUD.
Considering the Sabre-class’s superiority over the Longsword-class in close-range dogfighting maneuverability, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Navy brings her out of the classified prototype stage (don’t know why it was in the first place) and into the active duty Naval Air Forces.
Mixed in with the fact that the Longsword was tested as a playable vehicle in Halo: Reach and later replaced by the Sabre, for obvious reasons, it should be a good sign that the latter will be chosen if any Human starfighter is needed for gameplay.
But yeah, i’d love to see it back, some of my favorite memories from Reach was from playing four-player co-op on Long Night of Solace just starting at Anchor Nine and keep on reverting back to the beginning of that level section when we got onto the corvette SDV Ardent Prayer. If 343i can bring something fresh to that gameplay element and still make it loads of hilarious fun inspired by Top Gun fantasies, then I say go for it!
> as long as it doesn’t appear in campaign. same with the flood.
If the Precursor is the main antagonist of the new trilogy, which according to the books looks that way right now then it’s a guarantee the flood will appear in the Reclaimer trilogy. The flood were essential to it’s plans.
I definitely want some space combat and after having savored it’s goodness will be disappointed if it is not in campaign.
Multiplayer would also be cool but not as essential.
What about a Campaign DLC with majority being space combat.
Halo needs to do campaign expansion packs, like ODST was originally going to be.
Multiplayer space combat would be really interesting if done right. I could see it being similar to the space battles in Star Wars Battlefront II (which I’m sure most people here can agree was extremely awesome).
Sabre was a terrible vehicle plus it looked dumb atleast in my opinion.
if they put space combat into the game that would be cool maybe something like Star Wars BF2 mixed with Reaches space combat
No thank you. The Sabre part in LNoS was the most boring part of the entire campaign. I’d much rather not have space combat than have the half-hearted effort than Bungie gave us.
Multiplayer Space Combat? Definitely.
I was disappointed Bungie would focus on it and not use it for MP.
Space combat would be great, in and out of campaign.
Also, can i haz simulation controls?
I personally didn’t find the space combat very fun so I wouldn’t care if it returned or not, but I would like to see a bigger role put into air combat by adding things like pelicans and phantoms to make air combat more diverse and fun.
What I would really like is the implementation of a Puma veicle!

Really? Where are these epic sounding clips of which you speak? I’ll make it worth your while if you tell me…

I don’t know if they would be able to do something like that. Or if anybody would even want it. I think we could do with some different vehicles though. Like some hovery jetbike type thing.
