Hey guys just wanted to know if the original halo theme song should make some kind of appearance in Halo 4 campaign. Please share your thoughts.
The nostalgic part of me says yes, but this is a new trilogy. I don’t want any type of ambiance that lulls me into my comfort zones in this trilogy
I like what they are doing now. Reminiscent of halo yet not the same.

I think they should have some of the old Halo sound but keep it fresh material. I would love my monks though…

As much as I want it to be in, I have accepted 343i’s fresh new vision for Halo. Their new soundtrack is one of the things I’m excited for in Halo 4.
New trilogy, new theme. Although it wouldn’t hurt for me if they put in a new take on the theme. Then again, it wouldn’t hurt either if they didn’t.
There should be a callback to it, like Halo Wars. Work it into another theme. That said, the more new (good) music the better.
The first halo soundtrack have the epicness SO when MC just wake up and kill some covenants jerks and feeling epic BUT suddenly facing a ancient threat and thats when 343i create new music to fit in the emotion of FEAR and HOPELESS, agree? ( MC gonna own anyway lol)

Maybe have it at some really cool or ironic moments but other wise keep it fresh, but it should definitely be in there some where!

I think you mean iconic, and yes I agree.
Yes but it’s already appeared in a trailer so I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be in the game. If it isn’t then Neil Davidge seriously messed up. The series is split now between two composers, so the only thing that can provide musical consistency are the melodies.

I voted no, but in reality I wouldn’t mind it making at least a cameo. It doesn’t have to be the whole theme, maybe just a small portion. With this being a new trilogy and new developers, I really want a lot of NEW in the game.
Halo has relied TOO much on the nostalgia of it’s past titles to the point where some of the rehashed maps have become boring.
I want to see what 343 can do with Halo and not what it can rehash from previous titles. That’s not to say I do not want anything from previous games. I just don’t want them to take a noticeable percentage of the game.
Some remade maps okay,but from Halo 3 as we’ve had plenty from CE and Halo2 now remade. The music, while iconic needs to move forward as well. I really like what I’ve heard from the Neil (the new musical director). It would be a shame to drown out his creativity in place of the previous standard. This is by no means a knock on Marty. His music set the tone for the original trilogy and spin-offs and it was grand to be sure. It’s just time for something new and refreshing and that is what Neil represents.
I think it should be all new music, but that the monk tune should be used once. At at least 2/3rds of the way through the campaign (or whenever the major plot twist is) it should drift into the score as some great secret of the forerunners is uncovered.
