I think it would be cool if it returns in the multiplayer with some balancing so it is not too overpowered, it would have a little more counter weapons like maybe if you throw a fuel cell at it it damages it really bad
(only concept idea)
Could take it or leave it. I would love to see it get a treatment similar to the Hydra and be redesigned with a more classic art style in mind. But it didn’t really feel like a necessary addition in the first place, as it’s role in the sandbox was basically just a tank with more mobility, but less range. Maybe they can do something to make it stand out more though?

Maybe. there could be a new feature added that seperates it from the tank area and maybe more heavy infantry like the mech from halo wars

That would actually be sweet. Having a smaller, lighter, and faster variation of it… that can jump. But with weaker weapons, or maybe even only Melee weapons? That would definitely raise it’s uniqueness factor.
It would be kind of cool if it got some of Halo 5’s Spartan Abilities, like stabilizer, thrust, spartan charge, and ground pound. All three of those would be easier to accept in the game as features of a mech vehicle than as base abilities.
Suddenly I feel like I’m describing something the Brutes would come up with, instead of the UNSC though xD
I’m down for that. What would be really cool is if the brutes have their own mantis like a “Bantis” lol. It could include brute weapons instead of machine guns and rockets and look like something the brutes would use. Idk just some ideas but I wouldn’t mind if they put something like that in the game.
Yes. Because it’s awesome and basically the only thing that saved Halo 4’s campaign from being completelly forgetable.

Honestly that was 100% the Didact. Most of the over-the-top action cutscenes were less awesome than they were silly. When I replayed it recently I was surprised how many of them I forgot, like “Whoah Cowboy” and the amazing UNSC knife that can penetrate a Lich’s armor plating. But the Didact’s lines? Immortal.

The Didact is a good character, and I like the emotional bits involving the Master Chief and Cortana too, but I was referring to gameplay rather than story. Storywise it’s much better than Halo 5, but the gameplay sections in both games are not very memorable. One of the few wow moments in Halo 4 is the first time we use a Mantis.
So, yeah, I want me some more Mantis in Halo Infinite, even if it’s “just a tank with more mobility”… well, I believe that mobility will be very important in this game. That reminds me of what the sandbox team said about the Warthog being good for rocky terrain, the Ghost being good to pass through a flat marsh… Certainly there will be areas that the Scorpion would struggle to traverse, but the Mantis would do just fine.
I’m all in favor of tinkering with the Mantis in order to make it feel more unique, but 343 must be careful to not make it look like a Titanfall rip off.
I wouldn’t mind seeing it return. Was a cool vehicle to use.
I enjoyed the Manits, in BtB it is frustratingly common to get boarded easily. It would be great if there was an “overcharge” that would protect you somehow from getting boarded, or at least an eject so you didn’t have to sit there and wait to die.
When the grunt goblin was released, they said they g9blin was intended for the next halo game, what we called halo 6 at the time, but that it was finished early and able to be implemented in 5. If i recall correctly, they also said grunt may not be the only race to recieve a goblin. When seargeant johnson dlc for halo wars 2 was released, there was a lore tidbit i think its in Johnsons description that some information from the Battle of Algolis was recovered and this included some information on the prototype hrunting/yggrassil armor that was being developed on the planet. With this in mind 343 are perfectly poised to give us a new unseen level of power.
I disliked the mantis in 4, but ended up liking it a lot in 5. I think there needs to be some addition to make it a little harder for a mantis to dominate a BtB match. Something like slowing it down as its legs take more and more damage. I think taking away the single fire rockets in
I find it odd that 343 teased a new vehicle, in the last Inside Infinite, that is meant to fit between the hog and Scorpion, as that’s the role the mantis has filled in 4 and 5 imo. (Mobile like a hog, but can deal out some heavy damage like a scorpion.)
Sure why not? More vehicles in the sandbox, the better
I never mind it in H4. Rarely was it dominant at all, so i could care less.
But as in generell i say why? Halo does not need it.
I always like the OG Warthog, Banshee & Ghost setup. Everything else was forgettable.
the mongoose hat its place in ctf & bomb, but beside that, which vehicles had an big and positive impact?
the wraith? not so much but i wouldnt mind
The scorpions seemed fine. A power tank but not broken since he was big and slow and the driver was easy snipable.

Meh, I had no interest in the Mantis, felt like a gimmick. This might also be because I’m biased against a lot of the designs introduced in the later games (especially the Pelican… wtf…)
