I’m not going to make an hour long arguement. I’m just going to state my opinion and hope to the heavens that you agree. If you don’t, oh well.
The flood were the most cunning and interesting of all the Halo enemies. They provided the best and most challenging fights. They added amazing depth and twists to the storyline. Canonically, they are guaranteed to still exist. I hope they return in Halo 4.
Love it or hate it, speak your mind.

the rings were never activated so it would make sense that the flood still exist. so yes the should be in halo 4. unless the story of the game doesnt allow it.
I’m not sure about Halo 4, but they will be present in the trilogy at some point. Probably 5, onwards. They’re still a threat to galaxies, and their story is of great importance to the new story arc. In terms of variety, I think 343 will introduce new forms for us to encounter, both big and small. In the extended universe we have seen The Flood take on appearances that we’ve not seen in the games, and I think they’ll finally make the transition.
I don’t exactly hate the Flood; I hate all the missions with the Flood. I believe they will be in Halo 4. If only the Forerunners (or another race) are in the game, it would be extremely bland. The Flood gave a unique twist on the Human-Covenant War, I expect 343i to continue their story.
