Should the enemies in Halo 4 be like Alien

While I think about which characters in a universe are most fearsome and which ones I’d rather go head to head with, I’d probably be the most scared of the Aliens from the ‘Alien’ franchise. Rather than the Predators which you can communicate with and try to make a truce, the Aliens from the ‘Alien’ movies are extremely violent. Everything on their body is a threat. They have sharp claws, a long tail, a miniature mouth within their mouth, can run lightning fast, can jump long distances and to top it all off their blood is acidic! But one of the scariest things about them is they can’t communicate with you. They only care about themselves and that’s it… I know the flood’s only job is to kill but I don’t find them nearly as scary as Aliens. Aliens can find a way to flank you and rip your body to shreds. Hopefully in Halo 4 the majority of the enemies don’t communicate, are a threat to kill, and downright fearsome. I’ve felt like the novels always told you how fearsome the flood is but never portrayed that in the game

Absolutely. It’s quite clear Aliens are engineered for war. It’s unlikely that they could ever share a similar purpose as the Flood.

The Flood’s only job is to see how far their chosen hosts will go to defeat them and preserve. The Forerunners failed, going with the Halo rings (though going with the Didact’s shield worlds from the start might have turned out better). Ancient humans sacrificed their own members. And they passed the test.

In H3, I highly doubt the Flood were trying to win. When you think of H2 Flood, how they seeded High Charity with Flood and took over it rather quickly and operated vehicles including tanks then think of H3 Flood, there’s a huge gap between these two. The easily broken Flood is also inconsistent with canon.

Anyways, we need enemies that aren’t reluctant to pursue us, enemies that are wholeheartedly devoted to our destruction, enemies that won’t stop being a pain in the -Yoink-.

The Flood, Hunters, and Elites in newer Halo games are the complete opposite of CE AI. Flood are now pathetic (and on higher difficulties, aren’t very fun due to the high damage and Pure Forms doing bs on a regular basis), Hunters don’t even try to dive anymore because they’re damage sponges, Elites are pretty cheap and predictable. Yet in CE, these 3 were some of the fiercest enemies you could face (just pretend the pistol exploit doesn’t exist). They followed you everywhere (in most occurrences). Throwing a grenade behind you didn’t always stop them from charging. They could catch up to you if you weren’t moving forward.

And the most noticeable thing: they weren’t damage sponges. Flood couldn’t be killed by melee but they could be stunned by it. Hunters could succumb to even the AR. In Reach, the damage sponge nature of enemies is concealed by having them stumble from shots but it’s still pretty noticeable.

Another thing that makes the Aliens scary, is that they have no eyes. So you have no idea if they are “looking at you”.

Maybe the new threat is similar to the Aliens, Reapers, or Metroids.

Chestburster Metroid Flood.

Make it happen, 343.

well here’s the thing that sucks i will tell you a little sad story,
once upon a time a thread was created to discuss what we think the flood will be like in halo 4. then franky came in and said “you will not be fighting flood in halo 4” then everybody cried.
the end :c

in all seriousness i did think the flood could be the enemies that you described they seemed intimidating in halo ce for sure then halo 2 took it to the next level where they could take our vehicles and what not. but in my opinion they were push overs in halo 3.
