what does everyone think of the master chief showing his face in halo infinite? personally I don’t think he should. because if the chief did it would most likely mean that this is the last halo game. let me know what everyone thinks.
More than likely, Chief will not show his face in this game. Of course we basically know nothing about the game, but I think it’s very unlikely this is Chief’s last game.
For the god god sake, he shouldnt . He is one of the most iconic character in video games. I agree with what op said that if he do so ,this would be the last halo game.
No. He shouldn’t show his face. Bungie made him like that so that the player thinks he that they are Chief. That mystery of his identity is what makes him so iconic
Noooooooooooooooooo… Don’t repeat Halo 4’s biggest mistake.
This topic shows up again what feels like every month around here. To state again what I’ve stated many times prior: I think it would be a serious mistake for 343i to go whole-hog on revealing John’s face in Infinite (or any other game later on). As Sluggage says above, we basically already know what he looks like from both the color corrected H4 reveal and from descriptions of his features from the books. We don’t need to see his face, and it’d just be a letdown for most of us anyways, since part of the reason he’s been such a successful character over the years is that, like many other hero characters like Spider-Man, we can all pretend it’s really secretly our face under that helmet.
John’s a remarkable soldier; arguably the best there ever was. It’s not got anything to do with his face.
Everyone knows he is Steve Downes
I don’t think they should ever show his face. IMO, it can only be a let down, as its like reading a book, and then seeing the actor in the movie adaptation that doesn’t look like what the character was in your imagination, and then that will be the way you see that character moving forward. Just my opinion though.

Thinking you are the chief…that’s a pretty neat way to look at it!

Yes that’s what Bungie intended really
When I first played Halo CE as a teenager I desperately wanted to know what he looks like. The last scene with Chief were he took of his helmet I was like “ Nooo come on! Show his face!” I wanna know know what he looks like!”
In the end I am glad Bungie/343 never revealed his whole appearance because that way he remains kinda mysterious. Seeing him as a kid and him being played by an actor whos face is known in the real life serious is not the same.
As long as his face as grown up will never be revealed in the game 343 can’t do anything wrong. Master Chief became popular the way he is… “faceless”. Why change?
I would not want that. I’m already writing his canon face appearances out of my head-canon
People that ask if we’ll see Chief’s face have zero Halo credibility in my book.
Absolutely! After decades of Halo, I think we deserve to see John’s face. I would ONLY want to see his face in the very last Halo game featuring Master Chief (where he could possibly die). If 343 wanted to be really clever, his face would be an aged Pablo Schreiber which would tie the chief to the new Halo Showtime show combining the worlds of the game and show together.
If his face is shown, in my opinion, I think it would ruin the mystic of Master Chief.
No.
