should the banished be in Halo Infinite?

i think the banished should be in halo infinite because it would be awesome to fight the banished as master chief, and maybe the spirit of fire and red team will meet up with master chief on Zetta Halo

I think they will be. With the covenant gone I don’t want to only fight Prometheans, unless they get a major overhaul that make them a lot more interesting to fight.

Yes. Halo needs a new enemy or faction to be the main enemy of the series. Cortana feels like a poor excuse for that role imo, but atriox is a solid villain with a great faction.

Most definetly. The Banished better be in Infinite or atleast Cortana should recruit some brutes. I miss fighting brutes.

I would prefer that the Covenant reform after witnessing what has been happening with the Guardians. I feel like that could both reasonably revive religious sentiment among some of its members and also allow 343i to back off from this whole Cortana/Created mistake.

I would love for the covenant to be in this one… really hoping they’ll figure a way to make that happen

I hope they are

I see that quite unlikely. If anything, it’s possible we may see Anders, but not the rest of the crew. They’re at the Ark and the game’s focus will likely be Zeta Halo. UNLESS, there’s a point where we get to the Ark, maybe mid-campaign like Halo 3, to unveil some information then bam, Spirit with UNSC, Banished and Created, 3 factions fighting for control.
However, there’s one critical plot point that everyone ignored because everyone blindly goes “oh, haylo 5 champaigne was so bad”. I digress, but there’s a point in the mission Guardians where Cortana speaks directly to all species in the Galaxy, namely Humanity, Unggoy, Kig-Yar, Sangheili, Jiralhanae, San 'Shyumm and maybe Yan’mee, offering them a chance to join or be extinct and rebuilt in her vision. Seeing her power and the possibility that Infinite takes place 2 years after Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2, it wouldn’t be surprising to see many joining her, including regular Human civilians and maybe Insurrectionist. Given that, we would basically have 2 Covenants. 1 that has Prometheans and probably has a Forerunner-inspired artstyle and 1 without Prometheans and a badass artstyle… Quite redundant if you ask me, but if it’s necessary, go for it.

I think the Covenant should stay dead already. How many times do they have to come back? They will always be a big & important part of Halo, but to keep reviving them after every time they are “defeated” & fallen gets annoying… you either kill them off of you dont. After Halo 5, it’s safe to say that their reign is over and that it’s time for a new enemy to rise cough The Banished cough

Humans and Swords vs Banished vs Created

Year their vehicles and unit designs are amazing

There were only 2 Covenants tho. The Covenant we know and love and the Storm Covenant (as I call it) or Jul Mdama’s Covenant. Jul’s faction is the one we fight in Halo 4 and 5. Infinite will very likel… actually, WILL have a Covenant faction that isn’t really the Covenant nor do they call themselves that. It may be the Created, judging from dialogue in Guardians, or/and the Banished since it’s said that HW2’s ending would impact Halo Infinite.

Maybe not Red Team and the Spirit of Fire but I do agree I would much rather fight The Banished than The Created. I wouldn’t mind them being mentioned and see how Blue Team would react to hearing that Red Team is still active but a direct cross over is probably to early all things considered and obviously not a major priority considering the Guardian Threat.

Probably won’t The Covenant is done and I am all for a game series dedicated to the Human Covenant War based off a set of new or existing characters. I think the Banished are definitely something to look forward to but I do miss a lot of aspects of The Covenant that’s for sure.

Well I don’t mean that The Covenant need to come back verbatim, but I don’t think the Banished would go out of their way to get to Zeta Halo. What purpose would they have even being there? The Covenant would at least have a religious excuse for being relevant, and if they stick with the Created plot line I’m sure that they would be more manipulable than the Banished for this reason.

I hope so. I honestly want them to replace the covenant remnants. I doesn’t really make sense for them to be around since their leader is dead unless they follow their new robot overlord Cortana.

Well, but you know there are more splinter factions, right?

they probably will be, Infinite will be set on the same ring from the end of Halo Wars 2

It probably won’t. Halo Wars 2’s ring is Installation 04C or 09, a replacement for Installation 04…B/08… which was a replacement for Installation 04.
The ring from the trailer has a very rich biodiversity, something that Zeta Halo (Installation 07) is known for.
