Should shotgun range be increased?

I think it should. It was increased a bit from halo 3 to halo reach, but I still hate it when you have to be so close to the person’s face to kill them.

I hated how much range the shotgun had in Halo Reach. It really through infection off for me. I hope they bring it back to the way it was in Halo 3.

It would be too powerful sorry.
I mean, the only thing keeping it fair is its poor range.

Though i hate being sniped with it(exaggeration), i believe the Reach shotgun feels just right. Increasing the range would be overkill and remove the need to use automatics.

Well in Halo 2 I think it has a longer range and more accuracy but was weaker. To compensate for this the shotgun had more ammo.

In Halo CE is was stronger but had roughly the same range.

Perhaps a CE shotgun would be better than Reach but Halo 2s shotgun also worked well it just didn’t ‘feel’ as buff.

If something were to change for the better in the shotgun’s design [like more range] something else would have to become worse to balance out gameplay [weaker shotgun]. Equivalent Exchange

The range and power on the Reach shotgun is perfect, it doesn’t need increased.

I think that the range in Halo Reach worked fine. In my opinion the shotgun should be for extreme close range.

The Reach’ shotgun was perfect in my opinion. In Halo 3 the range was too short. I hope they don’t increase the range of the shotgun in Halo 4 because then it would just change the game a lot for the worse.

Mp: No, though there should be options to adjust the range in Custom Games/Forge

In campaign, the thing was nerfed because 1) the AI suck at cqc and 2) it was a copy and paste from mp.

The range needs to be brought back and enemies need to be made smarter, not tougher (a.k.a damage sponges).

I think that they should bring it back to the Halo 3 range because with sprint + increased range would cause the same problem as sprint+sword.

The pistol wasn’t overpowered, and melees were fantastic, even if the lunge was ridiculous.

I think it’s fine, shotguns in Halo has always been more of an equivalent to the sawed of in Gears 3 then the gnasher, instant kill at 0,5cm distance, low/no damage at longer ranges then 1cm (close enough).

I prefer Halo 3’s. the way it’s supossed to be IMO. it actually acted like a CQC shotgun. made Infection more fun/fair also
