Should Req Packs be sold after Halo Infinate?

So the controversial topic on Req packs and another topic on the lifespan of Halo 5 especially after the release of the next game. So some things about Req packs we all know they have mostly cosmetic items with the gameplay consumables restricted to Warzone Arena and Warzone Firefight. Also there is going to be a lot of players migrating to the next game leaving those modes bare. Most people who are not in the warzone got their cosmetics already so they won’t have a need for the consumables if they stay out of Warzone. So for Warzone at least 343 will have to do something drastic to keep that engaging or else it will be a ghost town.

So Warzone was designed with the Req pack concept in mind. Okay, the only issue I had is that they were bought with real money, you could use in game currency as well and get your free daily but I am going to make an assumption that if Warzone was played only with the free daily silver pack then it simply wouldn’t’ be fun as it needs players to buy at least a gold pack a week. After Halo Infinite I am going to assume that the number of Req packs purchased per 100 players is going to drop below that. So I believe 343i is going to have to increase the free drop to maybe a Gold Pack per day and a Platinum per weekend to keep things interesting.

That being said if everyone is getting gold and platinum for free why would players buy a bronze or silver pack? This is where I think the option to make those packs available only with Req points is the best way to go. Preferably all packs should just go to Req points only, but at the very least the low tier packs should no longer be monetized. If any packs are monetized the game does venture into pay2win territory. Also if an abundance of power ultra rares come out you can always make stock modes where the common and uncommon are the highest tiers that could be purchased. Also all packs and bundles available for purchase must have an option to buy with Req points. If that means 1,000,000,000 Req points for the $99.99 (best value) bundle is the conversion rate then so be it.

So basically to keep Halo 5 viable after Halo Infinite is released the game needs to go into loot shower mode.

  • Free Daily packs need to be increased to Gold (preferably Platinum). - Monetization for low tier packs (silver and bronze) be removed. - All Req packs and bundles should have an option to be acquired with Req Points as alternative to real money.

Think that is a bit much. If you are playing warzone the rp payout is pretty good especially with the right boost. You can get a gold pack in like 4 games or so. I feel all that they should do is lower the price of the packs. They should easily cut the price in half. Especially since they said the money from packs primarily went to HCS tournaments. Well they haven’t been doing those tournaments any more so no need to charge so much for the packs.

Maybe even lower the req price per pack by say 2000 points.

I’m almost to level 150 and I’ve never once purchased a gold pack. A round of Warzone gets you like 2,000 REQ points plus after you unlock all of the armors and whatnot gold packs really only cost 4,000 REQ points because it gives you 6,000 REQ points back every time.

Makes it nice when you get everything unlocked. Cheap Gold and Silver packs.

I agree there should be a req point option, but making it a loot shower is no fun. Its easy enough to get a gold pack already.

Scuse my ignorance, but was there ever a map update to halo 5?
