Personally, I’d love this idea. We can play as Elites(not in Halo 4 D: ), Spartans, and probably Prometheans in Halo 5.
This would change Halo physics as we know it. A LOT of stuff would change if this were to happen.
-Teleporting: Prometheans are constantly teleporting. When they take damage, they can just whisk away, and come back with their shields recharged. This would be worse than the usual sprint tactics we have currently. A way to avoid this however, would be a Promethean Training Program. If the Didact continues to compose humans or other beings into Prometheans, then there could be a training program for them. They could have specializations and a certain specialization would grant access to the teleportation ability. Another way to avoid this, would be simply to say only Prometheans deployed to the field are trusted with the teleportation ability.
-Melee: Prometheans don’t use their fists in CQC. Instead they use a sword(I think). From what I’ve seen, this sword glows orange and completely depletes shields, much like the melee attack. Prometheans incorporate this into an attack that allows them to move at the speed of sound, and close in on their target. Unfair, obviously. This leads me onto my next topic…
-AAs should only be used by Prometheans in MM: I think it’s safe to say the idea of AAs hasn’t settled well at all with many Halo players. It encourages random outcomes and encounters. It should only be used by Prometheans in my opinion because this is how I see it…
- Competitive, militaristic, and to an extent, fun games when you play as Spartans.
- True sci-fi multilayer when you play as Elites.
- Gritty, extreme, random games as Prometheans.
- The big long shot ; this is likely not happening, but if you play as the Flood, a scary atmosphere, yet whimsical.
This satisfies a lot of people at once: competitive and nostalgic fan base as Spartans.
Sci-fi lovers and Halo lovers flock to Elites.
CoD players feel a little at home with Prometheans(random and powerful guns, but longer kill times)
Flood satisfies the tiniest thrill-seeking feel and has crazy yet balanced games.
- What if people want to play as one faction, but don’t like the style of gameplay there?
There should be at least ONE gametype that allows the player to play as their preferred faction. This gametype should have core Halo gameplay mechanics like preset loadouts, no sprint, balanced weapons, and different maps come on EACH TIME(looking at Ragnarok and Exile!) and there should be a voting system.
Well this escalated from a Promethean thread to every other faction pretty fast. Would you prefer this kind of Halo matchmaking? If not, why?
