dont you guys think that if microsoft made xbox online play free, that more people would play because you dont have to pay for gold. i think thats the main reason why most people decide to get ps stuff instead of xbox stuff. well i bet you a million dollars that microsoft will NEVER make gold free forever. Maybe kind of Xbox Live Silver. No games w/ gold but you can play online, games w/ gold games aren’t really good on XBONE lately anyway
Running online servers costs a LOT of money, dude. $40 for 365 days of play is pretty good imo. You just open your wallet, buy a card, and then you do it again in 365 days.
If you think 60$ a year is too much to be playing for an online service, either you are a kid or you need a job. I have no issues forking over 60$ to play on a console where the controller actually fits the size of my bear claw hands.

The issue now is the fact that Microsoft announced the compatibility between Windows 10 gaming and Xbox One gaming. When the game releases, both will play against each other, but PC players don’t have to pay the yearly fee. So why should Xbox have to?

MicroSoft will not make it free and the reason for this is because the money we put into our accounts goes to many things they need money for to keep XBL open for all of us to enjoy, but if they gave us all a free month for Xmas that would be cool.

It is not necessary to give us free live gold, but at least free to play halo.
I think they should lower the cost a little bit.

Costs of running dedicated servers, R&D for for their consoles and other tech they develop, playing employees, developing games, giving away numerous games for free every month - taking all that, and probably more, into consideration I would have to say no, I don’t think gold should be free. I’m quite comfortable to pay £40 to have access to all they services they have to offer. I don’t think it would be financially viable for them not to charge for it. From what I remember they recently dropped the price slightly, not to mention they removed the paywall for entertainments apps
Yes it should be free. I bought the Xbox, the Game, and the Internet to play it on. I’m afraid of how much it actually costs for me to play my game…but oh well…
I agree! I just got my XBox One and I am still waiting for MCC to finish installing, but I already know I wont be trying to get gold until I at lease finish single player. Even then its not a big deal if I don’t so yeah…would be way better free.
Live is $60 a year right? Just break it down, 17 cents a day, or $5 a month. That’s really not bad. I wish my internet and cable was $5 a month.
€49.99 for a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service is incredibly good value for money. Add to that the Games With Gold, which have been a little naf for both 360 and X1 recently, but still, I’d have to say that XBL is exceptionally good value for money.
