Thank you guys for paying attention to my topic. Today I’m going to ask you whether Master Chief should have his own ship like Slave 1 of Boba Fett in Star Wars series or not. After the event of Halo 4, Master Chief went rogue to find Cortana so I think he should have his own ship to travel stars and that would be cool if we would be going to experience that because in Halo 4 most of the events took place in a Forerunner’s planet. I’d like to hear your thoughts.
He’s not a captain but I’d really like to see how he goes rogue. Does he just steal a ship and fly off? I don’t know why I can’t see the Chief doing that. I’d wager that he was, and I use this term lightly, ‘kidnapped’ by the Iso-Didact or Chant-to-Green or something like that.
He’s probably got one of the new Slipspace-capable Pelicans.
He’s a spartan. His place is on the ground, not in a chair commanding ships. He was offered a promotion to Admiral, but he refused.

the head of ONI is a spartan.

No she isn’t. She failed the augmentations and never became a spartan. She was only a spartan candidate.

She still went through the training, mental and physical conditioning. The armor or being a little bit taller doesn’t make them a Spartan.
The point is that “Spartans” are still capable of being out of the field and using their abilities.
But while the rest of the S-II’s were out fighting on the ground, Osman was being trained by ONI. Chief suddenly deciding to command ships is very, very different.

The augmentations did far more than just make them a little taller. Those who failed this part aren’t spartans. While she still retains some of the benefits, ONI had to ‘repair’ her after her body rejected the skeltal augmentations. Serin Osman was further educated by ONI and put in the commander program. The other spartans served on the frontline. It’s not comparable. John, Fred, Linda, Kelly, Jai, Mike and Adriana are the only II’s still known to be in active service. To put them in command of a ship is a serious waste of their abilities.

The augmentations are needed for her to be a Spartan. Ralph-103 left the programme after he was augmented, he had his augmentations reversed for the most part and later joined the marines. He was a Spartan, but not after he was discharged from the programme. Similarly, Serin was a Spartan. Now she’s taken a new last name and a different career path in ONI. As well as this, Locke states in Nightfall that Randall Aiken used to be a Spartan, rather than stating that he still is one.
The whole point of the Spartan programme is to create augmented super-soldiers. If they’re not augmented, then they can’t be a Spartan.
You are missing the point, Spartan teams on missions can have a prowler, and this can be the case as in escalation blue team has their ship. Chief reassigned himself having a ship, and it’s quite hard to go rogue without one.

That’s a longsword (starfighter) and John has used one before. It could just be me, but I tend to think of something larger than a fighter when people say ship.

These were Spartans who became too wounded to continue active service or died after failed augmentation procedures. They have been permanently reassigned within the Office of Naval Intelligence, although Dr. Halsey stated that some might make a full recovery with rehab and re-enter service as fully functional SPARTANs.
KEY WORD: fully functional spartans.
the augmentations didn’t make you a spartan, you were a spartan if you were a spartan simple as that, its like a guy saying he works for navy seals, if he quits is he still considered a seal guy? no.
Serin never quit the spartan branch she just was crippled and could not fight in the battlefield and instead put in ONI to use her training and knowledge as a spartan to use in other fields.
Randall left the spartan branch.
Ralph left too so how does that relate to Serin who did not leave?

Halsey’s page says she’s part of ONI even though she is now a war criminal that allied herself with Jul 'Mdama. Most of the universe pages either lacks detail or aren’t up to date. The way I see it she didn’t complete her spartan training and as such she isn’t a full fledged spartan, but this discussion is off topic and won’t lead anywhere.

she did complete her training
her body rejected the augmentations.

I did indeed forget about Naomi, but I excluded Douglas, Jerome and Alice because they are MIA and 343i like killing spartan II’s and III’s. My problem is putting them in command of say a frigate. I have no issues with them being fighter or bomber pilots, but I still think they are more valuable on the ground.

The Spartans were trained to fight in all situations but it’s safe to say ground operations were the focus of the training!
