No, how is that fair for ranking? People are put into a game that has already started and most of the time the game they join in progress is on the losing team. This would be a horrible idea.

So just implement a Titanfall-esque system where, if players are put late into a losing game, it doesn’t count for anything.
This is not COD. jip has no place in halo.
It would completely work against the skill based ranking system.
It would almost be a guaranteed derank every time since you will join the loosing team.
When have you ever seen people quit from a match because they were winning???
ive noticed that people wont quit when youre platinum or higher…any rank under that and they do.
I think they should make it impossible for someone to quit a ranked game. That way you are locked into the game and can’t quit. If you turn off your Xbox to quit, the device will self destruct.

I mean a 3 v 4 isn’t the most fair thing for ranking either i think. Like that other person said if someone leaves after the 25 kill mark. That game just shouldn’t count towards rank for either team but still get xp
Maybe just implement a system where if a team loses 2 players it dosent affect the rest of the losing teams rank. Sort of like what happened/happens on rocket league (haven’t played in a while) and severely punish the quitters. I dunno maybe lose a hand?
They made some rank accommodation when playing shorthanded:

While it’s unfair to be doing a 3v4 because someone quit, it’s worse on whoever ends up joining mid-game. Yes there’s a chance they could win but they aren’t going to be as likely to rank up since they didn’t do as much (I should think).
3/4 isn’t necessarily bad… Sometimes that puts you at and advantage.

I have always liked JIP but for Halo I believe a Forfeit system might be better especially for “ranked” matches. Forfeit works very well in Smite. Basically 90-95% of the team have to agree to forfeit or it wont work. Each person gets the option to vote, if they vote no. Then the match continues.
Warzone with JIP is absolutely perfect because it is more of a social experience. Not sure if BTB will have JIP. I guess that depends if it is ranked or not. If BTB is social then it needs JIP. If it is ranked then that will be debatable.
When it comes to ranked matches, SOMETHING needs to change in Halo. Being stuck on the team that everyone left is miserable for the winning and losing team. It just makes for a very long unnecessary game. That is one of the main problems with TMCC. On a side note, the more people keep quitting, the more they will be banned. So hopefully after a week or two, it will start to balance out.

No join in progress. But rank forgiveness for a leaver on team would be a good implementation.
I know your pain, and it sucks when it happens, because its your rank on the line; However, how much worse would it be if you joined a losing match and it messed up your results that way?

You can’t have JIP or that person then gets screwed too for joining a game where the team that was down a man is likely losing.

Depends, if a friend is playing a game like arena and is a person down then it should be fine to get a friend in to help but for those that want to get straight into a game with random people in arena then they start new matches. Join in progress should always be allowed in games like BTB, Warzone to help balance the teams in case of quitters/disconnects.

I like that Idea, minus the xbox self destructing. haha Some times you just have to leave a match made game.
