Should it be called "Halo 6?"

I read an interesting article in Xbox magazine or some magazine back when Halo 5 was coming out and it was an interview with Kiki Wolfkill I believe, or maybe Bonnie Ross.

Don’t quote me! Anyways when asked what the purpose of the subtitle “Guardians” was used for they went on to explain that Halo “wasn’t Final Fantasy” and that in some way they probably will move away from the numbered games.

Should Halo 6 be the first MasterChief centered title to stray away from a definitive number or should it be “Halo 6” all the way?

Should it have a subtitle, if so come up with some crazy ones…

Halo 6: Chief gets a pension plan. Wort.

“Halo 6: Reclamation” doesn’t seem too bad in my mind.

I’d vote to name Halo 6 something else, but then have “Halo 7: Reclamation” be the final numbered Halo game, and conclusion of the Reclaimer Story Arc. What do you think? I think it would be fitting for Halo’s last numbered game to be “7”.

I can dig this.

I really hope they don’t go all Assassin’s Creed with this… numbers are helpful for aiding people new to the series so they know how to follow the main storyline. I don’t even understand why Halo 5 was called “Guardians”. I don’t get why it couldn’t have just been Halo 5. And I think subtitled games should only be for spinoffs like ODST and Reach. To clarify, I only mean spinoff in the story sense. Obviously Reach is one of the main Halo installments, but its story is a prequel not directly linked to Master Chief’s saga. People getting into the series should know how to follow the main story by the numbers.

Cortana 3, since 343 has put a huge focus on her and basically turned her into space führer.

Halo 5: For real this time.

LOL

it’d make sense for them to come up with unnumbered titles but feel like the numbers are what Identify it as the main story, otherwise it might look like all of their spin off games and kinda mixed in. then again 343 seems to really like connecting everything (I mean seriously now it’s like every book is now being connected together with halo 5, plus the little ending in halo wars 2 gives a spin off direct path into the main story) so maybe blending it all together so there isn’t a main story, rather than one big complex story, wouldn’t be so bad.

Yup I’m thinking that’s what Halo 6 will be called. To tell the truth though, I thought Halo 5 would be called Reclamation back in 2013, and I’ll probably think Halo 7 will be called Reclamation if halo 6 isn’t lol.

I think halo 6 should be called something eles, like halo : blah blah blah
it be a bit of risk tho, since we know wat people do when something changes a bit

Personally, I think the numbered titles should stay as the Chief-centred games. I just hope they don’t choose to wring 117 dry by making Halo 20 or 30. I’d like to think 343i would know when the time is right to move on the numbered titles, and do so in the perfect way.

I think it would be appropriate for the final numbered game to be Master Chief’s final appearance, and it would be nice for it to happen on a significant number. I’m thinking Halo 7, as the final numbered game, and the 12th new game released on the consoles (CE, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ODST, Reach, Wars, and Wars 2, will have been released, leaving one non-numbered game to fall between Halo 6 & 7). That’s how I’d do it anyways.

I hope Halo 6 gives us character growth and new mysteries (possibly ones touched on in the novels, but the game would definitely need to fully explain what needs to be known, because a lot of players don’t read the novels). Halo 7 would conclude the Created Story Arc, potentially see humanity attaining the Mantle, and would conclude with Master Chief’s quiet departure, potentially resigning after the trauma of having to destroy Cortana, visiting the Voi Memorial and then walking off screen, not to be seen again.

Future titles would not continue with the numbering system, or would at least have their own titles (ex: Halo Wars 1&2).

Finish this trilogy with the numbers. It’d be inherently wrong to end the numbering on the odd 5. I can dig the ending the numbers on a 7 as a) 7 has been a repeated theme throughout the games and B) Biblical allusion isn’t an irregularity in the Haloverse (with the entire ‘build an ark to save us from the flood thing’).

In the end, I hope they can somehow manage to find a way to a new story arch with new characters, they tried with Locke but that was just an unfortunate situation with the general quality of Halo 5. When they get to this point I feel we can ditch, or even restart the numbers.

I mean, 343 can put subtitles on their games however they please, but it won’t have much impact either way. Except in more formal occasions, like news articles, everyone calls it “Halo 5.” No one calls it “Halo 5: Guardians,” or just “Guardians.” The same will apply to the next installment. Everyone will simply call it “Halo 6” and not include the subtitle.

Call it Halo 6 or Halo 3×2

Most likely will be called Halo 6:Reclamation

Halo 6: Req pack Simulator

I’m pretty sure that the next game is going to be the one to drop the numerical titles and just go with a name
