Should I Use Voice Chat?

Hello, I am a ten-year-old gamer that loves to play halo, and I was wondering what the community would think of me using voice chat. Any ideas on what some reactions would be if I used chat?

And also, how strict are the rules for chat?

Well in most lobbies you’ll find that everyone else is silent and not using their mics. You might get called a squeaker, depending on the sound of your voice, but if that happens don’t let it bother you. There aren’t any formal rules for voice chat, but you can get reported for saying things that are racist, sexist, or just offensive in general. Just be respectful, as if you were talking to friends. Also, if you’re working with a team don’t call out everything that happens, only say what’s important. For instance, if you grab a power weapon such as the rocket launcher and drop it because you die, it’s a good idea to tell your teammates that the weapon is near were you died. “Rocket launcher on my X.”

Also, I’m glad to see that not all young gamers just cling to COD. Halo isn’t an easy game, I’m impressed that you’re willing to play it over other games.

If your actually giving constructive call outs then the pitch of your voice matters very little to me. As long as your not giving the whole team a play by play of every singe thing that happens you should be fine.

It’s your choice, kid. Just be careful out there.

Listen, as long as you provide the team with useful information not many players will make fun of you regardless if you have a high-pitched voice. Learn map call-outs and the like, I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate it.

Please don’t just say “My X”. I don’t know who you are. Say you service tag or a part of your username.

Actually, I do not even like CoD. I think there is far too much blood in CoD. In my opinion, it is disgusting.

finally my prayers are answered

People online can be rude, so be prepared for that. As long as you are doing callouts, people will be less likely to dislike you. Even still, you will run into some jerks out there, and if you do, just mute them. If they are being really mean just block them and don’t give them another thought, even report them if you feel the need. Overall though, have fun, and if talking to other people distracts from your enjoyment, then don’t do it.

Well, thats not the best reason for not liking CoD but at least you don’t like CoD.

If you want to give call outs, then by all means. But most of the time you are met with the stereotypical little kids, TV’s bleeding through mics, really annoying music or something who has got to have their mic in their mouth while they are eating. Best of luck to you OP

Dude, go ahead. So long as you’re polite and calm, you should be fine. Be careful, though, as people might try to make fun of you and bully you.

If you don’t mind your ears bleeding then feel free to talk with randoms

Go ahead you might make some friends.

Thanks!

Just remember Microphone etiquette. Nothing is more annoying than a mouth breather munching on chips with a speaker in your ear.

I think is really useful to use voice chat, at least in breakout I use it and it’s easier to win when the whole team can hear each other. As long as you are not annoying like screaming all the time or listening to loud music then it’s ok to use it
