Just got nova yesterday, and its 2,000,000 till reclaimer, but after I get there, should I stop? I have gotten 35 days of time in multiplayer, with about 40 days total invested.

Dont stop. Go all the way until you get the inheritor rank. You can do it. Play as much or little as you want, but sooner or later you will eventually get there.

Ranks have never really meant anything. Just a symbol in a video game. Some people just want the gratification of completing something. I’m also working towards Inheritor.

Go for it, when you’re so close you might as well finish it. I’ll never even try as a silent protest against the way Reach was released and handled by Bungie.
I got over 50 000kills in Halo 3 having fun, I got just over 10 000 in Reach before I couldn’t take the state of the game anymore (pre TU), got the same amount of kills in Homefront after half the time, felt like Halo 3 but better.
Inheritor in Reach, General grade 4 in Halo 3, Prestige 10, same blam! different names. Spend a lot of time to get it, but be sure you’re spending the time beuase you enjoy it and not just to get a high rank, since no one cares, especially when the new game is released.

Well if you don’t want to spend a lot of time in MM
Then just do some Custom Challenges then to level up quicker
Unless you like to grind through the ranks
I think you should make it to Inheritor. Its worth it in my opinion…
