After the Tactical Ops event ends, should I start playing Ranked?
It’s entirely up to you my friend
however the game is currently suffering from desync issues that hinder the experience
& some would argue that how ranked currently works is a tedious experience, levelling up in ranked only focuses on your personal performance, so one bad game can drastically nullify the effort made in multiple games.
That’s not how it works. Your rank is determined across all games so one bad game is negligible.
But yeah ranked is heavily dependent on personal performance so you can win a lot and not rank up much which is frustrating for some.
I specially said Levelling up, not placements.
Play what you want. Just know there is no integrity in the ranked system or the game for that matter. The desync issues will mean that either you’re shots aren’t registering or your opponents aren’t. Plus the system awards personal performance not team objective performance. So even if you cap all the flags or carry the oddball the whole time for a victory, you’ll barely rank up… while the guy on your team that’s hiding off to the side and getting a ton of kills gets to rank up all day.
So play it, sure… just know it’s a crap system on a shooter that doesn’t shoot.
If you play in the USA or Northern Europe you can try it, maybe you will suffer less from the usual problems.
Prepare to be frustrated because the sync issues, stray bullets, matchmaking issues, absurd ranking system and the whole multiplayer in general will make you hate this thing.
If you play from the rest of the world you will leave it even sooner, it is a disaster.
Have fun.
Same difference, the amount you rise or fall is largely attributed to all games, not just one.
I would recommend to start learning how to utilize the Needler in weapons practice before playing ranked.
No, wait until desync and matchmaking is fixed.
The only reason to play Ranked is to get away from the Social playlists and weapons. If you prefer BR starts then Ranked is obviously the way to go.
My only advise is not to take Ranked seriously. The system itself is heavily criticised and with the ongoing in game issues then you have to take it with a pinch of salt. There is little to no competitive or sporting integrity in this game as it stands.
It honestly dosen’t matter if you start Ranked or not.
SBMM is used across all playlists, so if you just wanna play BR and no radar, then why not? It’s extremely broken though. You’ll probably do pretty bad and end up in Platinum. Then get paired with Golds somehow vs High plats and unranked players.
Multiplayer is god awful and the SBMM is making the whole game not worth playing. I try and let the gameplay make up for it, but its hardly playable because of the SBMM. But good luck anyways
Aha yes, but I want the Recon charm and the emblems so I’m just gonna go ahead and play Ranked
Go for it…but please don’t set your hopes on getting the Recon charm (available at Onyx). I’ve just had a quick look at your stats and you’re going to have to massively improve to even get close (a negative KD and low accuracy percentiles just aren’t going to cut it I’m afraid). Not trying to be disrespectful…but just play the game and try to have fun without setting yourself unrealistic targets.
im afraid i’ll just have to “git good”.
Ranked doesn’t matter in this game, because nobody knows what their actual rank is. A gold player could actually be a diamond and vice versa. It’s completely hidden. There are still better players in ranked so if you want the challenge then play it. Don’t go into it expecting to rank up or it’ll enrage you.
From my experience, Ranked gets you more balanced games (after placement). I find that Social playlists are harder. But, maybe that’s cause the BR is one of the more casual weapons since it works so well and isn’t so spammy, and therefore I just perform better.
Why would you play anything besides ranked? No incentive
Ranked is basically just team BRs. Your “rank” is honestly meaningless in this game, and you’ll be getting pretty much the same level of competition in ranked as you would in social. Also, I wouldnt go into ranked expecting your team to be any more objective focused either. Most solo que players are more concerned with KD and challenges rather than actually playing as a team to win.
Ranked is pretty much just another social playlist except for BR starts and no Motion Tracker. The Motion Tracker is pretty well useless in 4v4 social anyway so its not like you’ll even notice its missing most of the time in ranked.
I dont find ranked any more competetive than its social playlists, so if thats what you’re worried about, then dont be. If you like BR starts and/or grinding for a meaningless, flawed, and innacurate visual representation of your “skill”, then ranked might be for you.
