Should I recommend Anniversary or Reach?

Hi there,

the point is that one close friend of mine is receiving a Xbox 360 and two games for Christmas.

And he has decide one of those two games to be a Halo game, since he wants to try this game series.

I told him he should go for Anniversary due to its lower price, but Reach has a easier and more variated Campaign (IMO) and its multiplayer isn’t limited to 6 matchmaking maps and 1 for Firefight…

So I will recommend him tomorrow to go for Reach first.

What do you think? I don’t really think he would enjoy Anniversary’s Campaign due to how long can some levels be and Anniversary’s multi can get boring with so little maps.

Well they are both similarly priced, so that can’t be the issue. I’m more inclined to recommend Anniversary because that is how it started. He can see what made Halo, Halo. It is a pretty hard game on Legendary, so the game will provide a good challenge for him. He can also see what it looked like 10 years ago and how far it has come.

The only reason I can think of to ever recommend Reach over Anniversary is because you will have more maps to fight on. But that shouldn’t be the deciding factor. Anniversary has a better campaign and story, and the multiplayer maps are the best ones Reach has to offer, so really, he isn’t missing that much.
