Should I play the campaign? I suck at this game?

How easy is it? I suck at RTS games, so I dunno if I should play the campaign, if I play it, it’ll be on easy.

For noobs like me, is the game easily completed on easy?

I mainly got this game for MP, but now that HW2: ATN comes out within a matter of months - Which I really wanna play the campaign of, I wanna play HW2’s campaign beforehand, so I kinda know a bit what’s going on.

I still haven’t played HW1’s campaign, so should I play that first?

I am replaying Halo 5: Guardians campaign and possibly Reach’s before I do this - I should easily get through both in a week, I have a Friday off, and the Weekend which should be enough to get a bunch of missions done.

So after, should I head into HW2’s campaign?

As I said, I absolutely suck at RTS games, but I have seen some cut-scenes and I re-watched the trailer, and I really wanna play the campaign, as the story seems great and I don’t wanna miss out, especially when HW2: ATN looks even better, and I want to be able to get the plot, but I don’t wanna miss out just because I am a bad RTS player.

Should I go for it? Or will I struggle then give up after the first few missions? Thanks in advance.

The best way to get better at anything is to go ahead and practice. We all sucked at games at some point and all great players were just like you when they first started. I’d say go for it and learn as you go!

definitely play hw1 campaign for story

Have you tried playing blitz. With it being card based, it may be easier to pick up and play rather than your traditional RTS.

I would absolutely play the campaign. Huge waste if you don’t.

Heck yeah play the campaign! It helps guide you through how to play early on… Maybe even try on easy and if you find yourself getting through without much challenge, bump up the difficulty… I would also suggest focusing on the objectives of each mission… I felt like these helped me learn/develop some skills for RTS games… Like focusing on multiple tasks and tactics… Helps introduce you to multiplayer/skirmish micro/macro and other skills…

I’m just a casual player though… If you want to be a more competitive player, I’ll let them share their experience/suggestions…

I don’t play RTS games and I didn’t have much trouble. The only problem is that on Heroic and Legendary the AI spams the heck out of leader powers, so it’s time consuming to rebuild your army.

If you play on easy or normal just for the story you won’t have an issue though.

Campaign is good! Playing on easy or normal should be fine.

Definitely play Halo War 1 campaign, not because it will make you better at Halo Wars 2 but because it is a good campaign with a good story.

Once you are done with that, hit up the Halo Wars 2 campaign (I would recommend normal or heroic) then jump on some unranked multiplayer.

If you want someone to play with and teach some multiplayer strats, message me, otherwise hit up the “Looking For Group” feature in the Halo Wars2 game hub.

Isn’t that pay to win though? Surely I will just get destroyed by all the high level rich kids who have bought a bunch of cards that are likely better than mine?

Did you find it hard? Could an absolute RTS noob complete it on easy?

Not to offend, jsut genuine curiosity. If you “suck” at RTS and this game, why did you buy it specifically for the multiplayer and not for the story?

So you’d recommend it to a noob trying to get better at the game? Also, is it easily completed on the easy difficulty?

Thanks for your reply. So on easy it should be manageable for a noob like me?

I mainly bought it for MP, yes. I enjoyed the last one (Although I sucked) so I thought I’d get this one. I never really played the first ones campaign though, so I dunno what to expect, if it will be easy or hard.

Yes, for sure. You could also try the tutorial… That should help as well.

It should be, there might be two levels that might be a little difficult but you should be good.

Try the campaign on normal. Play all the way, if you like it.
if you want to team up for some MP, add me.
Im no pro, but we can work through some strategies and openers.

Well I am quite grounded in RTS games from years of playing them but yes on easy you, even if you are brand new to RTS you can certainly play it on easy without too much struggle.

Remember - constantly be building something. Constant production of units, upgrades and eco buildings and you will be just fine.
