Should I go dark?

I’ve been following every single bit of information that has been brought about Halo 4 so far. I’m obsessed with finding out new information about it, I’m excited for it, and I love talking about what it might be like (as long as the conversation is constructive). E3 is just a few short days away, and I know that after the Halo 4 segment, all the communities are going to blow up with mixed emotions. Some people are going to hate what they see, some people are going to be ecstatic about it. But either way, there will be talk.

I personally like to be surprised by the campaign. I don’t like to watch full blown levels getting shown off because for me, it ruins a part of the story. In this case, the beginning. I’ve already read the GI article describing the demo level, but it’s much different when you see it in action (especially with the new graphics and appearances of characters like Cortana and MC).

The information we’ve received so far doesn’t really spoil anything for me. Finding out things like the new enemy won’t ruin anything for me, finding out new weapons and vehicles gives me something to be excited about. But call me old fashioned, I buy a game for its campaign first, multiplayer second. I really don’t want to know anything about Halo 4’s story apart from what I’ve already read.

So my question is, do you think I should shudder in a lonesome corner for a while after E3 (including not watching the campaign demo)? Or do you think it’s safe to stay active and find out things not related to the story?

Go Dark. It’s the only way!!!

Only if you bring a flashlight.

I don’t think 343 will reveal too much about the Campaign. I’ve heard they’ll show ten minutes of the Campaign and reveal the Ancient Evil, but I don’t think there’ll be too much besides that. You might want to stay away from the forums for a few days (or maybe a week or two) after E3 since it’ll be so crazy, but after that, it’ll probably just be people talking/complaining about the multiplayer mostly.

In the end, it’s up to you, but I would definitely avoid the forums for a while if you don’t want anything spoiled.

when it comes to campaign, I’m all for the replay value of it and I simply won’t be the same if I watch anything more on it. I’m content with the current information, so I’ll be going dark…

343i has been very secretive about the Campaign for Halo 4. As you’ve probably noticed, 70% of all the footage so far has been from the Multiplayer with very small tid-bits from the story aspect of the game. What they’re showing at E3 will most likely be a way to show gameplay and most likely the first mission of Halo 4, which has already been talked about within magazines and sites such as IGN.

I wouldn’t go dark but if you feel that you must, by all means. Stay safe. Bang.

Quick side-note: I haven’t been on the forums for a very long time, since the original beta version; what does “Master of Unicorns” rank mean?
