I love halo and really loved halo 4 when it came out, I have spent alot of time on the forums mostly reading but at times posting on threads(https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postsm2442428_Campaign-vehicles--please-port-them-to-forge.aspx#post2442428) . It seems tireless all of us trying so hard to get 343 to change halo 4 into the game we want, some want classic halo, some want casual halo, some want competitive halo. I personally just want to play a fun game and Halo 4 hasn’t been doing it for me lately. I have purchased all of the DLC, dabbled in most of the playlists (loved dominion for a while before all these power weapons destroyed it), and this game is just getting dry for me. I have been trying to play and enjoy H4 but it seems so forced and unenjoyable. I actually starting to move away from this game looking for excuses to play other ones like I recently saw a trailer for the new Farcry expansion and it looks so exciting and new I’m really considering checking it out, which would be strange for me considering the only game I really play is Halo.
As I said earlier, I check these forums nearly everyday in hope of news of things to come and new exiting content to experience. But it is just the same things, examples: “Nerf this or that” and “CSR should be visible in game”, things which I may actually agree with and it appears 343 is giving us the half–Yoinked!- version of all that is being asked for. Thanks btw 343 for even listening.
I think what I really wanted from halo 4 was to be able to explore this new game with a series of exciting moments, like getting into forge world for the first time in reach, or using a bubble shield for the first time in H3, or duel wielding flippin needlers!!! But this game just didn’t do it for me and I don’t know why. Sure there was hopping into the mantis for the first time, and flying the pelican in campaign, but the multiplayer just cant really keep me going.
Here’s to hoping Halo 5 footage on the xbox is 720 is leaked soon, showing incredible battles with tons of new weapons, gadgets, vehicles, and a vast world to explore. 343 please do it right this time, (give us a beta) I trust you guys. I hope to fall back in love with HALO and get back to pwning n00bs in the future.
You don’t have to “give up” or dedicate your life to a game, or any single thing. If you like the game play it. If you don’t like the game, do something else and return later.

Don’t know if you feel the same way, but do you know how fun Reach was during it’s last few months? Big team heavies, Alpha Zombies, and two years worth of custom maps made it a memorable experience. 343 hasn’t been developing this game for a decade, they obviously made mistakes and are willing to fix it. I say we got lucky that 343 is putting all their effort to make this game as fun and memorable as possible rather than just giving up.
I’m going to wait for the weapon balance and legendary slayer. I say wait and see. That doesn’t mean play the game if it’s not doing it for you though, it just means don’t get rid of it. It might turn into something better. I still have hope.
Do what I do. Take a break once a week, play a different game. Go back to halo when you get bored of said game, or start to miss halo. Last week, I played Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, aw the memories.
I gave up on it a while ago, but I still check in here from time to time while I’m at work to see if anything has been fixed. I finally bought Black Ops 2 (after taking a break from CoD for a year), only because literally none of my friends play Halo 4 anymore, and I’m honestly shocked at how much better the experience is overall. I logged on this afternoon and there were over 250k people in matchmaking, I found matches to join instantly every time, there was never any lag or dropped games, and every game of team deathmatch was extremely balanced skill-wise. Also, this game does weapon variety and balance properly. Everyone is using a different weapon, some snipers, some assault rifles, some smgs, even people running around with just knives, yet everyone remains on equal footing because the weapons actually complement different play styles instead of hindering them (i.e. the DMR). I was hoping to come on here and see that the CSR was working well and/or the DMR was finally fixed, but it looks like I’ll be playing Blops 2 until Destiny drops.
Don’t give up! Why, especially when 343 is fixing the game? A bulletin just came out and they are tweaking a lot of things such as precision and automatic weapons and vehicles. Not to mention all the new playlists and stuff.
Halo 4 is starting to become the game we want it to be.

Totally agree. They are really trying now. They’ve admitted to shortcomings and are actually listening to us, contrary to popular belief.
Plus CSR is here! One can only hope they make it in-game someday…
If they add some more gametypes like rocket hogs and classic infection now I think things will really be on a roll!
The game has been out for a matter of months. Patience, folks. It is getting so much better, much faster now.

But OP, that is up to you.
If you feel that you are done with the game, then you are done with the game.
Red Dead Redemption was one of the best games I ever played. Once I beat the story I was done with it, and traded it in.
If it’s not working out then move on, don’t be like a lot of people who are not enjoying their experience yet forcing themselves to continue for whatever reasons.

I disagree, you probubly got owned in Reach so don’t like it, me I love Reach and Like halo 4, dont know about MM on Reach now havent played it yet (do know it sucked of real bad lag last year, kinda like H4 though it is clearing up on H4), but I have went back (still have some thing worth working on there, still need to get Inheriter)and had a good time on co-op campaign and firefight, the games I played had no lag. I do like playing Halo 4, but after reaching 130 , xp is worthless, so the challenges mean nothing, (if i complete them fine if I dont fine, they are basically the same each week),
but I have several friends I play with, that are working on their 130’s.
but I do occasionally tire of H4 , when that happens I go to Reach, Borderlands 2, Unreal Tournament 3 (now theres a fast paced shooter), and a couple others then it’s back to H4.
