Should I give this game another go?

The game is still boring, and its even more boring when your friends dont play the game.
I will wait for Forge.

So with the new update they just gave us, I’d suggest coming back after November 8th. That’s going to be the big co-op and forge update now so that’s when things should be more fleshed out and fixed. Basically a full year after release. sigh

Which basically fits with my first recommendation of waiting for the 1 year anniversary at the earliest for checking in.

i recomend mcc , it got recently a update. in my opinion atthe moment its the best halo experience.

Honestly, with how slow 343 has been with updating this game, I’d say probably best to wait for the 2 year anniversary to check in. Because it doesn’t seem like this game is gonna be up to the quality it should’ve been at at launch for a while.

No. 343 is a fecal stain on Halo made this franchise into a disappointment.

I don’t know why people keep saying Microsoft should fire 343i and let Bethesda make Halo. Have you guys seen the last few games they’ve put out? They’ve all been super buggy disappointments. Fallout 76 ringing any bells? Oh and let’s not forget that they can’t figure out a way to put vehicles in their games. So they have no experience with vehicles in a game. All of their titles are solo fps with no multiplayer and most of the story lines aren’t very impressive.

Them? You seriously think they would do a better job? I’m sorry, but no they wouldn’t. “It just works.” became a meme for a very good reason.

I believe that 343i has the talent to make a good Halo experience. Infinite has been so close to being the best Halo title. Well at least the best since 3/Reach. They’ve got the art style fixed and on track. The multiplayer experience feels good (when desync and lag or cheaters aren’t running rampant). It’s just lacking features and content that we both expect and deserve. MCC is both a terrible stain and a shining example of what can be done. That game was a complete and total mess when it was launched and barely worked when 5 came out, which also launched with missing content that they slowly added in, albeit at a faster rate than infinite has received. And look at MCC now, everyone is just super happy with it. It took a long time to get here, but it was done. Just look at the posts of people saying “go play MCC, it’s better”. Well yeah right now it’s better, but it sure as hell didn’t start that way. Pretty sure MCC had the worst launch out of any title 343i has made.

The long short of it is, taking something away from someone who understands it and knows how to work on it just to give it to someone who has virtually no experience in that area is not going to result in a better product. I would not expect anyone to be able to drive a formula 1 race car taken from the hands of an expert driver and hand it over to your average everyday citizen driver. Sure they both drive cars daily, but one of them knows exactly how this car works and won’t spin out and smash into a wall immediately.

Yeah, Microsoft created 343i for the sole purpose of continuing the Halo franchise. They aren’t gonna hand the series over to someone else. Once they finally actually finish a game, it’s pretty solid. After receiving several updates, Halo 5’s multiplayer was a fantastic experience. The core experience that’s here in Infinite is very solid. In a few years after several updates and additions, this game’s multiplayer will probably be a great experience. The problem is with how long it takes to finally get there. It’s clear the talent is there. But something is wrong, probably on a management level, that constantly leads to botched launches. There needs to be some kind of shake-up in 343’s management because this is absolutely unacceptable, and will be the death of Halo. Honestly, at this point I don’t know if Halo’s death is even avoidable anymore. It might already be too far down the path of irrelevance and gonna become like Gears of War is now, where no one outside of a small hardcore fanbase cares about it anymore.

That shake up already happened a couple years ago. I believe that the main issue is more than likely Microsoft themselves getting in the way. From what I’ve heard they require a lot of what is happening to be reported and given the green light before 343i can act on it. Stuff like that really slows down the work flow. Identify issues, gather feedback and send an itemized list to be discussed, modified and then approved. After all of that you can finally start working on those things. During which time you have to continue doing that over and over again giving updates on the progress being made on the previous list during which time they can tell you to stop and refocus on something else or completely scrap something you’ve been working on completely. Finally once something is finished it has to be approved again before it’s allowed to be released. Once again it could be scrapped or changed at this point because focus has shifted once again or they’re not happy/satisfied with the end result. All of this just brings work progress to a crawl and you’ve waisted serious time and resources on something that may or may not see the light of day. Waisted time that pushes back other items as the list gets longer.

Unless you’re extremely eager for (online only) Co-Op and Forge (Beta) on Nov 8th, there’s no reason to come back. You’re better off waiting another year and playing MCC in the meantime.
