Should I get Madden 13?

I was going to get Borderlands 2, but I’ve decided to join football at my school so I may not have the time for it. Also, I think Halo 4 will cover my shooter video-game needs for a long while, I guess.

I’m about to turn 15 in about two weeks and I’m currently in the tenth grade. Personally, I am a very enthusiastic and awesome person but outside of home, I go in a state of extreme shyness. To help me overcome this, I decided to join the football team. That wasn’t the only reason. It was also an attempt to make a few friends, for something to do, and for the sport. I’ve barely played football before this but I have landed a position of wide reciever. Just wondering, will purchasing and playing Madden NFL 13 help me learn more about football? I learned quite a lot about baseball after playing Wii Sports and MLB The Show games. I barely know anything about football and I need a new video-game to play because I don’t have Xbox Live anymore, so I was wondering if I should get Madden NFL 13. Is it fun to play? Do you have to have Xbox Live to enjoy the game? Will it help me learn a bit more about football?

well I would only recommend the game if you have played sports games in the past. if you have then yea go ahead and buy it but if you haven’t played any then I recommend you rent it first and see if you like it and its all what you want to do after that.

I would suggest finding an older version of it for like $20 and getting it instead. And then if you like it, and it does help you, you can get the new one if you want to. Could you learn from the new one? Yeah, but you can learn the same exact things from an older one for a lot less.

Edit: And no, you don’t need to have Xbox Live since you can do everything against the computer.

I agree with this, try Madden 12. It’s a lot cheaper.

Yep. At Gamestop, 12 is $20, 11 is $4, and the ones before that are each $1. And the only differences are the rosters and plays. Other than that, there haven’t been any game changing things added, as far as I know.

I’ve never liked football games, but I’m always impressed with the amount of strategy that goes into it. If you want to learn strategy, then yeah, buy it, but the physical aspect of football you’ll have to do away from your TV.

Thanks, everyone! Please accept my Waypoint thanks as I try to reward people who help me in life.

You’re right Lycan XIII. But when I get Xbox Live again in a few months, I’d need Madden NFL 13 to play with my friends over Xbox Live. I’m also one of those people who love the newest releases. After the Xbox 360 dies out and the new Xbox comes out, I will be ditching gaming for quite a bit. Won’t be purchasing the new Xbox as I will be focusing on other stuff. I’m trying to have as much fun with my Xbox as possible before I leave it in a box in the basement. It seems to me that Madden 13 is the most enjoyable Madden game as of now, but still very similar to the previous years of Madden.

Of course you’ll have to do away from the TV. I play music outside of Rock Band lol.

I just want to play Madden for fun, take my interest for football a bit further, and hopefully help me learn about and become more familiar with football.

If you’re truly passionate about it, then yeah, why not! I’m a soccer player, and I like playing FIfA. It’s fun to play the sport while not actually playing it :stuck_out_tongue:

If you’re not going to have Live for a few months, it’d still be better to get an older one, and then when you get Live, you can get 13 new for a cheaper price, while having already practiced.

Good point. I believe I’ve seen last year’s Madden for – what, 25 dollars at EB Games? I think they’re used copies though. Even though it’s cool to get an older Madden and then get 13 for a cheaper price, it may be better for me to just get 13. I find that pretty much all the Madden games are the same except for the rosters, plays, a few modes and songs, and the cover athlete. So maybe Madden 13 is the only Madden game I ever need to own for the seventh generation of video game consoles.

I agree. I play hockey so the EA NHL series really appeals to me and I enjoy it.

I wouldn’t get any game with the words EA on it if I were you. They have a history of breaking games…well…at least my favorites anyway. :I
