Hey, I haven’t gotten Halo 4 yet, but everyone on the forums seems to be bashing it. I liked Reach, but its map variety got boring. I do not really favor quick kill times, and I don’t really see the point in Ordinance. However, I would like to try it. Is it worth the buy?
They are bashing mostly very small things, but overall it’s a amazing game
9/10 in my opinion
Talk to me if you want more info
yes
If you have the money, get it. If you don’t, then don’t get it. Personally im enjoying it, but im staying away from War Games b/c of the join in progress and lags.
I am enjoying the game a lot
You can play game types that do not have ordinances if you don’t like them. Campaign is good and the promethians are good foes. It is a lot of fun and is an improvement from Reach
Wait for the DMR to be nerfed, its better for your health
Yes, Yes and Yes.i am just waiting for my purple unicorn shotting DMR
I would say wait until they fix the network issues first, also if you got bored of Reach map rotations fast then Halo 4 will not help as there are only 10 & you play the same 4 over and over again depending on what playlist your in, but if your really want to play rent before you buy see if any of the above is a problem for you otherwise wait till it drops price.
Yes it’s a great game, don’t let a few dozen babies talk you out of getting one of the best Halo games in the series.
Forums are a bad place for advice. Most people are either bashing it or loving it and come here for discussion. What topics get the most discussion? Controversial ones.
I suggest you watch Youtube videos and judge off of that. That way you avoid bias.

This.
It gets repetitive EXTREMELY fast and there are some glitches and bugs that are annoying. Rent it, play online, if you like how it plays and have fun buy it. Wish I would have done that before I bought mine with the map packs but it is what it is.
Yes you should get it, don’t pay attention to the whiners. Every game has crybabies in its fan base that will constantly rip on the newest installment. It’s part of the cycle that every Halo game goes through.

Agreed but at the same time forums are where people go to voice their complaints/suggestions but thats not a necessarily a bad thing, its something that I think potential buyers should see rather than assuming the game is perfect based on reviews from game sites, etc
Though if you would like to see the game based on actual gameplay and clipped gameplay on youtube I suggest going to twitchtv to watch people play it live to get a real feel for how the game is.
I am really enjoying Halo 4, I recommend you buy it.
Yeeshh :3

The DMR is fine. If you like Halo then buy the game.
I would recommend it. It is a very, very fun experience. 343 has said that they will take care of it going forward as well. I am anxious to see the care this title is given with the right tweaks this game could be my favorite Halo yet.
If you liked Halo Reach’s matchmaking, by all means. Campaign is the only thing I enjoy about it.

I agree to an extent. Stuff like the join in progress and hard drive problems are really important to notify people about, but then you get the opinionated rages and complaints that aren’t backed up. They only lead to a preconcepted bias that the game will be one way vs another. Stuff like “Boltshot OP!” They’re things that the buyer may never even notice if he/she bought the game, but with all these threads raging about it, it will become something that the buyer looks for when he/she buys the game and thus whenever the buyer is killed by that weapon, the preconcepted bias kicks in and they might believe the weapon to be OP without giving it a fair chance.
It started happening to me with the DMR. I began to LOOK for evidence and build a mindset that it was an OP weapon. It wasn’t even because I kept getting killed by the gun like that (which is honestly very rare); just because I kept reading “DMR OP!” on the forums. Automatically when someone killed me and it was a single shot, I began to think “Aw that guy must’ve been using an OP DMR NOOB!” I didn’t even stop to think that it might be the lightrifle. Once again, I’m more often than not killed by the BR or Lightrifle out of scope.
Also, you have to consider, forums are a place for discussion. Yes, it’s about the game, but it’s discussion. It’s social. What kind of threads or topics draw the most discussion? The answer is the controversial topics that get everybody stirring. I listen to a sports talk show on the radio that does the same thing (big in state rivalry). They put all their focus on the instate rivalry because that’s what draws the most caller and gets the best discussion. A lot of it becomes mindless rants that aren’t supported by facts. A lot of people come here to blow of steam or get attention. Threads that are controversial and stir people up are the best way to satify both those groups. The people looking for attention get to see their thread with thousands of posts while those wanting to let off steam get to go at it. If you don’t believe me, just look at this forum…
Because of that, I highly suggest sticking to videos on youtube. By that I mean gameplay videos with no commentary . . . turn off sound if you have to. That way you get to see the game in itself. Pure. That way you can get the best idea and judge for yourself because in the end it is YOU that puts down the money and decides to buy the game, not the people you asked. TwitchTV works too, even better. Basically, watch gameplay. That was what I was trying to get at.

The game is great, you should get it. Most people complainig about the game secretly love it the most but don’t want to admit it to themselves.
Want proof? check their service records, they’ve played the game more than anyone else.
