Should I get halo 2 vista?

I have all the halo games on the xbox and I habe been a fan since the start. Halo 2 was the best of all the games imo and I miss playing the game. I dont like playing it on the 360 because of the glitches that happen when its played (the random over the top shadows) and would also quite like to play the multiplayer online again. Would it be possible to play that online still? and can I my wired xbox 360 controller to play?

I have an xbox live gold account which from what I know will work as a vista live account and I have a pretty high spec laptop.

Any help on making the choice to get the game would be greatly appreciated.

The multiplayer level isn’t very high (50 max), you’ll need a somewhat good computer to run it (Just wait until a fan remakes Halo II in CryENGINE as a joke), and from what I’ve heard, it doesn’t always work on Win7.

You can plug in the 360 controller, and only some servers REQUIRE XBL Gold.

Buy it! I always loved Halo 2 and was devastated when the servers shut down. I just regret not buying Halo 2 Vista sooner. It is definitely worth all the money.

I bet you, you will be struck by nostalgia when you play the multiplayer again. Headlong and all the other maps are still as awesome as they were back then.

If you want it for campaign, don’t get it (I’m speaking from experience). Otherwise, it’s your choice.

OT: No. Too many bugs and glitches (not the good kind) that ruin the experience. Even MP sucks on it.

Off-topic: Why are all of you’re videos on Vista SG? I can understand CE, but H2 is better suited for console.

Indeed.

Off-topic: I don’t have my Xbox 360 hard drive so even if I got H2 for Xbox, I wouldn’t be able to play it (with saving). Plus, my parents won’t let me get another Halo game with Flood in it. They allow H2 Vista because the graphics are crap/I told them I would only play levels with Covenant.

Erg, I run it on Windows 7 (Ultimate 64bit) and no have no problems at all. They got rid of the Gold requirement some time ago. Even if they didn’t the active servers have mostly silver account players anyway.

By today’s standard, you don’t need the best PC to run it. Also, if you use the controller (which is wise), expect to be called a cheater in the multiplayer games.

I play Halo 2 online seldom and I love the multiplayer. I’m going to go buy a wired controller mainly because I’m definitely not that great with computer controls. Also, I run mine off of Windows 7 completely perfectly.

No reason to get it, besides multi-player and achievemets.

If your wanting the decent halo 2 multiplayer, not trashy Reach multiplayer then I highly recommend halo 2 vista, yes there may not be a lot there but the charm is still there.

I would. The multiplayer is dead though.

I got 1000/1000 in the game recently so maybe i can shine some light here.

*Halo 2 works on both vista and 7.
*The MP is not dead, but there are very few people playing it (less the 200)
*You should get it if you are want it, i mean its $20, and if you are not satisfied you can always return it
*Form time to time you will be pared off with modders.

Why are your parents restrictive against content with the Flood in it?

Plus if u get the game u get awesome achievements including collecting the “Classic Scarab gun”! Halo CEA had some cool achievements, but i think Halo 2 vista had better ones.

Need I even mention it? They’re religious. They don’t like me going around fighting anything other than humans. But I like fighting aliens. We reached a compromise: I fight only Covies, they let me keep Halo. They also don’t mind me playing Halo on PC since the graphics aren’t detailed.
