Should I buy this game?

This is good advice!

Only buy Campaign if you can get it on discount, because there’s no online interactions and very little content. It also plays fine on my early gen Xbox One.

You’ll likely be annoyed by the Multiplayer, at least until they spend several years fixing stuff and adding content. But, it’s still fun to a certain degree.

That’s my opinion. I haven’t played in a few weeks cause of another (actually somewhat complete) game called Elden Ring

Well, the overall player community is down to 7000 on steam… that actually says enough about the situation.

If you’re not already a hardcore Halo fan, I would advise against it.

Right now, Halo is missing some of the core features that would make Halo what it is.

Hard to say, it might be worth waiting until season 2 drops really but considering how customisation works in Infinite you’ve missed out on a lot of customisation from events unfortunately.

I bought the Halo Edition of the XBSX, and I have not been disappointed. Although the game currently has a lot of issues, there are solutions being developed now.

Most of the challenges are easy to complete. This makes Infinite ideal for someone who has limited time to play.

i wouldn’t spend money on the game.
the mp is bare bones, especially compared to previous halo games, and especially especially compared to h:ce-reach
the focus of the mp is clearly to sell MTs.
of course you can play the MP for free, but be aware of this.

the SP is really really bad. it is just a boring kind of no-story. kind of a retelling of halo CE but only until shortly before the introduction of the flood. and all of this is worse executed than CE.
the banished, could be an interesting faction, but it’s just the new covenant and on top of that the characters are boring 70s saturday morning cartoon villains up to the point that it is far beyond embarrassing. also the “boss” fights are just stupid bullet sponge fights.

so you shouldn’t spend money on the game, but in the end it’s up to you. and maybe you like it even if i don’t. i just wanted to let you know my thoughts

for the time being… buying the campaign is not worth rewarding 343 your hard earned 60 bucks. i’d say hold off on buying the game till season 2 or 3… but for now it is not worht your time

I can tell you right now that I played it just fine on my Xbox One X, so no, you do not necessarily need a Series X. It’s up to you.

I don’t know if you’ll like the campaign. Its fine to me, but I think they could have done so much more with it. Some bosses are a pain to deal with on legendary. And currently, there is no co-op or level select. The campaign costs 60 bucks to buy. You can also play it through Game Pass, if you are interested in that option. Again, up to you.

The multiplayer is free. You don’t have to pay for this one. I think its fun, but it lacks many of the playlists past games had. Customization is also lacking, with many items locked behind paywalls.

There is also no Forge for now.

In other words, Infinite is pretty barren compared to past Halos. I think the game launched too soon. Still, I hope they will expand on it, both multiplayer and campaign.

In my most honest opinion: The campaign is not worth $60. I’d price it closer to $10.

The world design is very poor which is 343’s weakest point in my opinion. Level design isn’t nearly as interesting as Halo CE-3. You just move from location to location shooting more guys and occasional vehicle gameplay.

The story is subpar. You have no time to get to know the characters or for those characters to get proper development so you end up just not caring throughout. It also feels like 343 is forgetting the military aspect of this military sci-fi shooter. The only military personnel you see are random marines you rescue. There’s no big battles, not a single one. Besides a few marines you can bring with you on a warthog or some other vehicle there is no other point in the story where you’re fighting along side allies. It feels like a one man war against the Banished and that doesn’t feel like a proper Halo experience.

Worst of all 343 is still pushing the “Master Chief is human” agenda which is going completely against his character. Master Chief was left a blank slate in the original games on purpose. Bungie themselves put it in the best way possible: “He is a husk. A big green suit of armor that you move around.” 343 doesn’t know how to write Master Chief’s character and it just feels so wrong.

No. I bought a series S, and high is much cheaper than series X, and it’s awesome. $60 is a complete ripoff for the Halo infinite campaign so I would recommend just playing the free to play part for fun. If you’re looking for a good game, I would suggest ghost recon wild lands. You can get the whole game and expansions for $30. The open world is absolutely massive and a lot of fun to play!

For sure join us on the free multiplayer, but in my opinion we are still playing a demo and 343 hasn’t earned our money yet.

No, at least not yet. The whole pvp portion is free to play, get the xbox game pass for the campaign. At this time the game is just barebones

Multiplayer is free so you don’t need to buy it. Basically it’s fun. A nice arena shooter with solid gameplay. Content is still ongoing and there are net working issues though they seem to be less of an issue than before.

With the campaign. I am not saying you won’t get anything out of it. You can go in and have a big dumb fight with the Banished. It’s a nice open world experience with great ambience and music. Gameplay carries over from the multiplayer and is solid. The game does ease you into everything. But, I’d say you probably get a lot more out of the story if you’ve played Halo 4 and 5. There are a lot of call backs and references to those games which you wouldn’t get otherwise. It assumes you are at least a fan of Halo 4 and I can’t see how you could get the most out of the games story without having played at least Halo 4.

If you have Battle Pass you should have access to Infinite.

Luckily multiplayer is free so you can try it out… But no it doesn’t have the old feel at all IMO. Infinite is a new Halo game. It’s not very fun IMO as it is super competitive, so if competition is your thing you may like it. I say MCC is the far superior game, in virtually every way. But MCC population for multiplayer is pretty low, especially off peak time.

I bought my Xbox series X for this game and ended up selling it a month after release. They promised Halo Infinite would show the Xboxes full potential but it’s really just a empty bare bones game and if you get the xbox specifically for this you will be sorely disappointed. Having more fun with my switch

As someone who really enjoys the campaign gameplay and some MP, no. Not yet

Wait for more things to come but for now play the free MP or buy MCC.

Iirc you can buy gamepass too, so why not buy gamepass and play it instead of dropping 60 bucks?

The campaign its good, it reminds me of Halo Combat Evolved; about the Multiplayer? It’s good but can be better but to spend like $200USD for this game? I don’t know, I played the campaign when it was free now since I have no game pass I’m just playing multiplayer

Mulitplayer is free.

Sign up for gamepass and complete the campaign. Then cancel your gamepass membership or keep it. Maybe campaign will be worth a purchase with co-op? We’ll see.

The mp is f2p. The only thing you’d have to pay money to play is the campaign, which is it worth it in my opinion. Or if you wanted to you could subscribe to gamepass which includes Infinite.
