Hey guys just wondering if i should get the dlc map packs for halo reach. I already have anniversary and was looking in getting defiant and noble map pack towards the end of this year. I looked at the price of the map packs and saw that they are still 800 MS point each!. I thought that they would have gone down already as its been a couple of years as i really need them to finish off my Halo reach achievements. At least i thought that noble should be free or at the very least at 200 mircrosoft points and the defiant map pack 400 microsoft points considering that you cant play the maps you bought unless in custom games or you get a boosting party. So guys what do you think, are the map packs worth it? Why? Why not and what should the map packs cost
I don’t think I would if I were you. Because in Reach, there are zero playlists (besides Anniversary) that require DLC, and you oh-so rarely run into them. There’d be no point in my opinion.
And if you wanted the achievements you would most certainly have to boost :\
he’s right if you want one take anniversary but I dont know how long it would exist maybe
it get shut dow lile “squad DLC” but maybe you can help getting it back…
just write everywhere possible that smth dosent work without it and it was better with it
This late in the life of Reach? Nope. There’s just no use in it.
As much as I love the DLC maps there’s no point to getting them now. I might consider it next time they go half off but otherwise…not worth it.
Not if you want to get ripped off. No playlist that let you get your achievements also. Not unless they carry over all these map packs to H4 and they actually have a playlist that YOU can choose the map you want to play on. This way you won’t be place in a map others who don’t have. These DLC maps are awesome especially the one brought back from H2 but these gamers that have really no skill or memory want the old maps for some reason. The simple UN-detailed maps. So really I am reluctant to ever buy another map pack in any Halo game until they fix all this. It’s not right. That’s why I went to COD. at least I can play the maps in a list. But selecting you particular map is the best answer. People will be in every map to play in matchmaking. and yes one option should be Team Swat in each choice (The skill game). The playlist and the map packs bought will be the key for Halo’s success. Pulling what you paid for even early was a major no no and dropped future sales for Halo games. 343i really needs to get it together and have a short time to do it. I per-ordered H4 and paid in full again. When I went back into Reach and seen it’s playlist is even worse…I am seriously thinking of waiting till it hits the $10 bin and get my pre-order money back. This is the last chance for Halo and 343i in my pocket. This was the best game and would have stayed the best but not if you throw away your money. Not if you don’t fix the playlist. I almost think that developers are being vindictive on us Halo gamers in a way. It was always a game that got better in matchmaking, now…I don’t know. Sorry 343i I am just being honest. I have bought every game and map pack for both of my consoles since H1 original. Why was the dedicated gamers disappointed. H4 matchmaking and giving back what gamers lost is the only way it can be on top again. I miss what Halo was to us real gamers.
No don’t get them it’s a waste of money.
-
DLC maps never show up in matchmaking
-
Halo reach will be dead in a month because of Halo 4

The DLC maps suck

1 is the ultimate Catch-22 for the DLC maps. The people that have them don’t get to play them because no one bought them…so people don’t want to buy them because they don’t show up.
I disagree with #3 a lot. The DLC maps are by far some of my favorites in the game and worlds better than most of the launch maps.

You disagree with #3 because #3 is an opinion that he’s trying to push as a fact. In MY Opinion, I agree with you that the DLC Maps are better than the Vanilla Maps.
I personally really like the DLC maps, but unfortunately they don’t ever come up in matchmaking because they are not required.
They need to make them required to play in matchmaking - and if/when they do that, then yes, they will be worth it to purchase.
Yeah, they’re definitely good maps. Just don’t expect to play that much in matchmaking; the game only makes them available when everyone has the maps, so because of that that it limits the possibility of such maps appearing.
Halo 4 is coming out in about a month, might as well hold off until then
if achievements are important to you. get the map packs. host a boosting party. i bought the noble and defiant and had a boosting partly shortly before we found out they were going to remove the playlists so i got lucky.
thanks gus but i am not sure why the price for the map packs are still high? 800 microsoft points each for the map packs is quite ridiclous as you cant even play them, excluding forge and you need to have every in your party actualty purchase them to show up. MS make them cheaper
Microsoft recently unveiled a new rewards program called “My Achievements.” With this program, you can earn up to a 2% rebate on all marketplace purchases! Think about it: if you buy both of the map packs for the total of 1600 points, you will receive 32 points in return for FREE! Think about all of the avatar pets you could buy with those points. You had better hurry up and buy the map packs before Microsoft lowers the price on them, costing you some very valuable rebate points!
IMO,343 should bring back DLC specific playlists and also consider a sale or a buy one get one free type deal on all Map Packs.
Another solution would be to make all the map packs free at this point if they are not going to have DLC playlists, so everyone can play on the maps more frequently.
Either one of these would make everyone happy, so come on 343 do some good here.
LOL at the people who don’t play DLC.
OT: If you’re getting them for achievements then yes, if for any other reason then no.
Making playlist DLC specific would dwindle the already low population even lower.
