Well, I bought Halo 5 in 2016 and finished the singleplayer, at the time multiplayer was not going so well, full of bugs, little content, etc. So I ended up trading with my friend for another game. Now I’m thinking of going back with a focus on multiplayer, but I also have Battlefront 2 as an option.
Do you guys think it’s worth it with Infinite at the end of the year? I already have the MCC.
Depends on who you talk to, if you like modern CoD games then sure OP might like it but if you want a classic Halo game then you might hate it since plays more like a twitch shooter sadly. It’s one of those games where some love/hate it, I personally don’t recommend it and see it as the worst Halo in the series but some seem to enjoy it so all I can suggest is try Halo 5’s forge on PC which is free, try for yourself before buying the full version of Halo 5 on console.
I guess the only other reason to try Halo 5 is to help understand the story between H4, Infinite…though recommend HW1/2 for further connecting stories. Though if you don’t enjoy H5’s game-play enough to buy it then recommend look up the wiki’s for general story or Youtube.
It sounds like the OP already knows how the game plays (new vs classic) but he’s more talking about content, and issues.
I’d say the content is in a healthy state. Rotational social lists every week keeps things fresh, and every month in Ranked too.
They also add in weekend WZ variants.
The game plays fairly well for what it is, bug wise. Most of the big stuff has been ironed out, and the weapon balancing is fine.
The only issues I encounter are occasional freezes after a match, and also long search times due to population at different times.
If you liked the mechanics before, enjoy Halo overall, and can get it for cheap - you should!
PC or Xbox?
If Xbox get the game pass ultimate then you don’t have to buy it.
If PC get game pass ultimate then you have MCC on PC.
Seriously the Game Pass Ultimate has locked me into Xbox now. It’s such a great concept and if you play the Microsoft Rewards aspect of it you really never have to pay for it.
