Should I abuse *ahem* excuse me, use DMR?

It feels cheap and too easy( I call it Easy Mode Rifle). Funny thing is 343 translated that into consistent and reliable. That’s only true because BR and CC were nerfed from previous titles while DMR was perfected. BR, CC, and LR would be just as reliable if they received the same love. No need for DMR Defenders to argue because now every rifle must be brought UP to DMR level. I respect 343 for listening even though it took a war cry from the community.

This hasnt stopped me from getting highly annoyed when losing 1v1s simply because I like to use weapons that were intentionally nerfed with slower kill times and require more consistent accuracy. Maybe I’m taking it too serious. I’ll admit I have a passion for the series and miss the balance of past Halos. But I still like Halo 4 and play it a lot.

Has anyone switched to DMR out of frustration or just to feel like they have a fighting chance? If you use BR, LR, CC have you considered switching to DMR until the weapons are rebalanced? I switched to LR and I’ve noticed it will make a DMR kid back down at long range but takes a lot more skill to get a 4 shot at med distances.

I’m not trying to start an argument. If you feel DMR is balanced dont respond. I’m talking to BR/LR/CC users who may feel outmatched at times simply because DMR is better at everything.

You have to use the DMR if you want to win consistently.

That’s just how the game is, no shame in that.

No shame for the players anyways.

I use DMR on big maps, and on smaller maps I usually use the Assault Rifle until I get too angry and switch to the DMR.

This isn’t true at all. I’ll admit the DMR is easier to use, but it’s not impossible to beat like you guys make it out to be, some weapon crafted from the hands of Zeus himself. It’s unbalanced, but not broken.

The sandbox changes will fix this anyways. Right now, they’re looking at making the BR an 11 shot kill, Carbine would be a 7SK, and DMR RRR decreased, and Light Rifle’s RRR increased. Sounds pretty good, if you ask me!

I should’ve included my “I can beat the DMR so it’s fine” Inb4. Don’t know why I decided to leave that out.

It’s rarely if ever impossible to beat something. That still does not make that thing balanced.

Notice how I used the word “consistently” instead of “always”.

@OP I don’t look for approval from others on my weapon choice. I use what I want and so should you.

After I mastered the DMR, I stopped using it. I play for fun and using the DMR to me is boring so I no longer use it. I do just fine without it though so I don’t think using the DMR is the only way to win.

It’s not the gun someone uses. It’s the person who uses it. Anyone can beat anyone with a weapon (for the most part), you just have to know your enemy. Based on how he plays. Identify that and exploit it.

Point taken. But we are a community so I was just sharing my thoughts.

I’m using it now after mastering the LR first. I’m using it now so I can enjoy the new and improved mid-range weapons when those launch. I wanted to get the two good precision weapons out of the way and leave the underpowered BR+CC for when they are buffed.

Not to mention the Auto weapons that will get even more awesome.

DMR is cheat mode [ON]

I can win my matches and matches just fine with a BR.

My most used weapon is the DMR.

I currently only use it on Ragnarok and Longbow.

My current fav load-out is the Storm Rifle/Carbine combo (Firepower). Another has the AR/BR.

As the shoe is on the other foot, I am finding that in some situations, I can not beat the DNR user. I finally understand what many on these threads have been arguing. I still believe the DMR should be dominant on large maps and long range. However, I finally know how bad it is at close to mid range.

For those who have been arguing change for the DMR, I finally concede that you all were right! I was wrong!
