What do you guys think? Should it make a return in Halo 5?
YES!!!
~ Duck.
Meh, I don’t think it should. It was an armor put in because there was a Spartan in Dead or Alive 4, and in return we got a helmet styled after Ryu Hayabusa and a similar katana. It’d be like if there was a deal with Marvel or DC and we got Iron Man or Batman-styled armor respectively. I don’t even know if it would take another deal with Team Ninja to have it put into the game again.
Regardless of its origins or the licensing issues behind it, it was cool, plain and simple. I vote for it to return. I knew nothing of DOA4 when I played Halo 3, and I still don’t.
Isn’t the purpose of cross-marketing to spread the word about your game? Let them have a Spartan again, for whatever DOA does, and let us have the Hayabuse-styled armor. Both franchises will win.
It would doubtless look wicked with an updated design on the H5 engine, too.
Hayabusa probably couldn’t make a comeback because of the partnership, but that doesn’t mean that 343 can’t make some kind of ninja/samurai armor that looks unique instead of copied.
In fact, I’m 100% positive they could come up with something that looks like a cybernetic assassin and stick a bunch of futuristic swords all over it.
Honestly, if it were me, I’d make one that looks like Hayabusa armor and name it Masamune and one that looks closer to Wetwork and name it Muramasa.
Classic armors like recon, mkVI, rogue, odst, eva, cqb
They were putting it in Halo 4 but didn’t because of time constraints, so I say they should this time around.
I don’t mind, in or out. I never understood the “armor makes you a n00b” angle, but I don’t like the way it looks, but just give me my Mark V and Mark VI, and I’ll welcome whatever…
As long as I get my CQB Armor back, with all of its dinner tray shoulders and glory.
Everyone has favorite armor they want to come back.
343 would be smart to just put favorites in this game and keep the 30 generic armor sets out.
Fotus, Locus, Deadeye, Wetwork, Protector, Venator, and Prefect armor are all pretty decent from H4.
I’m not sure, i feel like the whole multiplayer armor style has changed and moved on from the classic armors, though it would be a cool contrast to the new Spartan 4 helmets.
I never really liked Hayabusa. It was a deal with Bungie and Team Ninja so 343i would need make a deal with them.

Interesting, source?

Awesome, I’ve never seen these before.
Nope. Hayabusa is ugly. It would be a waste of both dev time and disk space.
Would I like it to, yes!
Will it? No, Bungie did a promotional gig with Team Ninja as people stated before.
Kinda off topic: is Team Ninja still in business? I have no idea what happened to that company. There hasn’t been a DoA game in awhile, and they went through a ton of crap/changes when working on Ninja Gaiden 3, which sucked.
Edit: also, Halo 4 had enough “unique/ugly/impractical” armor, and I’m assuming Halo 5 will (unfortunately) continue with that trend. While I liked Hayabusa, the last thing we need is more of that stuff.
No thank you. Never did I ever enjoy looking at that ugly thing. I say keep Raider, I think it is a nice replacement that looks similar enough to the original.
I didn’t like the way it looked, nor do I expect it to return. Legal reasons always win.
Yes please. I just want ODST & Hayabusa armor back
I would much rather prefer a design based off of it, but not exact.
