343 has been in DEV for 4 plus years, why can’t we see what the game is shaping up to be, Next Year should strictly be fine tuning unless they are behind schedule. I get it a lot can change in a year but how much could change if they were in DEV for 4 and a half years. Sorry, in my opinion, they should have just waited until next e3 2020.
I guess building a brand new engine should be an overnight job?
Most of this time went into building the game engine. Plus fine tuning it with the old engine so it still feels like Halo at its core. 343’s quote not mine.
It’s release 2020 so we will see them e3 2020.
I dont really get as to why would they skip E3 just because they dont have everything to show of the game just yet. The next console needed something to hook the people to it, in addition to technicalities, and Halo has had a tradition with doing so.
Also, they showed an engine demo in E3 2018 so this E3 was a good chance to show a glimpse of something else. It might not have been a major reveal but simply something to just keep the tension up and show that the upcoming game is still relevant, if nothing would have been shown there more than likely would have been topics about how Halo is dead or that the unreleased game is total feces because they didn’t dare to show anything.
But in the next E3 there will likely be something more major like gameplay footage and story related content alongside of commercial praising from the developers & Xbox interviewer to really start the consumers buzzing. It’s simple marketing.
