So despite the mixed response of the Halo 5 campaign It seems like the new characters from Halo 4 still arent very popular.
There was hope for Thorne, Palmer, Lasky and Del Rio but they never got popular compared to most of the characters of previous games (all characters are iconic actually)
Despite Roland being in Halo 4, Spartan Ops, Spartan Assault and Halo 5 he still isnt as popular or even near as iconic as Serina who only got one game who’s story telling was so iconic despite its not being as mainstream popular as the other titles.
Well since Chief’s voice actor said Adios to the studios, perhaps they’re gonna kill Chief off. Well they I remember it being said that it was going to be the end for him in Halo 6 somehow. Blue team despite being how BA each character they were, they’re nothing without him, and they dont have a standout member to lead the series. Which is why I think HW2’S heroes of the Red team should continue the story and be revived into the Halo 6 story arc. All the characters we are all quite familiar with and if you think of it all of the characters are suitable and popular enough to take the lead. They should have made Palmer a tsundere, they wasted her potential. Locke doesnt have as much, he just seems like a tool of the UNSC than his own active and dynamic personality. Despite Roland being Infinite’s AI he doest seem to be given the respect and regard as an AI as much as Serina or Cortana did.
Red team-blue team’s biggest rival, often beat them during spartan training. With spartan 2 numbers dwindling and as they are getting too old to the point of near decommissioning Red team are the best veterans to take over the Spartan program. Also with newly discovered ancient human technology used in the MJOLNIR Hellcat permutation, it was also stated that Spartan 2s had the near perfect sychronization thus are imperative assets in testing more discovered AH tech. AH tech may even be more key to humans taking the mantle (obviously because its human) since they were meant to take the mantle. Perhaps ancient humans in the annihilation and knowledge of the forerunners intent to cleanse the galaxy and reseed it may have had their own plans for humanity.
Jerome-one of Halsey’s chosen 4 to lead the Spartans. He should have the Geas to be so. Perhaps he is what Master Chief is to the Halo Wars story than a side character like ODST rookie or noble 6. What they find in HW2 could be just as important to the story than it seems. He and red team are biologically 29 despite being in their mid 50’s, thus young enough to take the legacy of blue team.
Ellen Anders-Catherine Halsey’s protege, student and rival. Highly intelligent, IQ of 180. One of the 1st civilian consultants to study the covenant after first contact. Halsey chose her for this role despite her refusal. Still biologically very young and capable to replace Halsey due to crygenics. Best choice to take over Halsey’s work.
Serina- Bad bish, notorious for her sarcasm and sass but she is still quite compassionate. She may be an older model than Cortana but she is still very capable as an AI. She is also in the stages of rampancy so its great to see how she turns out. She perhaps could be key to stopping Cortana. She seems to be well enough to wake up her crew as well, perhaps she survived rampancy due to her detached nature. With her age rampancy should have killed her. With Roland’s outburst its likely he may even join Cortana despite not being rampant. If Serina is metastable she could work against Cortana’s team of AIs. Perhaps should could make a great team with Roland.
Captain Cutter-One of the greatest military commanders in Halo. Just as good as Keyes. Despite being a captain he was offered UNSC marathon class heavy cruiser Prophecy in which the class were reserved for at least the rear admiral rank. Lord Hood was his subordinate in SoF and remained in Arcada was SoF left for shield world. Lord Hood became the benefactor of his family while MIA. Could be revived to deal with his insurrectionist Son Daniel Clayton. Captain cutter being in cryogenic statsis for so long is in a much younger condition well enough to replace Lord Hood due to their good relationship as well as Parangosky whom both are VERY old. Obviously the best to take over the command of the UNSC. He needs to give Lasky a lesson or two.
Letting these characters go and kill them all off as it seems from Halo Escalation, is a huuge loss and waste to the Halo franchise. Each character was EXTREMELY VITAL to the story. At least they would have some survive to be woken up in H6 (they’re probably gonna kill some off in HW2 to be honest) such as Anders and Jerome. Jerome also being a close friend of MC would be of great morale to Chief, re-uniting them (even both red team and blue team) would make us all cry. It may be too many character’s to deal with, but we need great characters to continue the great story without Chief and the revival of HW characters would work really well with the new and old character’s alike.
We should embrace the slayage of Halo Wars characters getting into the main story arc and snatch all of our crusty sahara dry weaves.
