I’m hoping for the return of equipment but I hope spartan abilities are a pick up as well. That way it will be more fair for classic fans like myself .but yeah I agree the maps do feel very empty without equipment
This goes with any game a multiplayer should expand on its best game but update and tweak it to give it a revamped new feeling that’s makes you hungry to play again. From halo 2 to halo 3 was a natural progression. 4 to 5 was also a natural progression. It just depends on how they want their game to feel like.
I’d rather see a mix between old and new. Remove sprint and increase base movement speed. Keep thrust and stabilize. Keep clamber but make most jumps accessible without it. Remove ground pound and spartan charge.
All the Halos feel different, the closest 2 that resemble each other are Halo 2 and Halo 3 and even then certain elements make the games feel very different, like hitscan v projectile aiming for the BR, equipment etc.
Infinite might feel like its own game, especially when you bear in mind that Halo 4 and Halo 5 experimented with new mechanics and felt vastly different from one another. I am hoping Infinite’s gameplay pace is more like Halo 2/3/Reach than the other games. I simply don’t enjoy Halo 5 as much as those 3 titles in the MP department.
Like halo 5 with hcs settings. Classic halos fun…but I’ll switch to a classic game if I want a classic experience. Give me something new but familiar. Fix only what’s broken, add only what really makes sense.

I agree, and I have said this before, I think Halo 5’s multiplayer was fantastic when it worked. If you’re in the UK and connecting to an American server it’s not good. I eventually gave up on Halo 5 all together, if 343i kept Halo 5’s multiplayer with server selection like Titanfall, I would not mind at all.
Edit = I would possibly change one or two things, maybe drop sprint and increase bsm, also blood, I would have much more blood.

Halo hasn’t really been known for its blood. It’d feel a little out of place, depending on just how much blood you mean.

The blood effects have been toned down in Halo 5, there used to be a lot more blood than there is now. I would go decapitions, dismemberment and blood soaked floors if I could, but as Halo is not known for that level of gore, I’d settle for the Titanfall effects, it’s not too over the top.
When I play Halo and I’m putting a sniper round through a Jackals head I feel it should be a bit more visceral, same with hitting groups of enemies with Scorpion tank rounds or rockets, it would be messy.
While I do like Halo 5’s gameplay I think they should bring back the classic gameplay. It would bring back a lot of the old Halo fans back to the franchise.

> Hello, I have been a Halo fan since Halo first came out. I have loved it’s gaming essence, both campaign and multi-player. I feel that things need to change in multi-player. Many of my friends and myself find that there should be running, customize your load out’s, similar to COD. I feel certain that if changes such as these came to be reality, a newborn surge for Halo will be evident.
what makes Halo different from COD is equal weapon starts.
Abilities and sprint make halo not serious.
Equipment should return, because brutes in halo 3 invented them ( I think) Every time you kill them they drop equipment. So if the brutes are coming back , equipment should to.
If brutes, flood, sangheili, coming back maybe there trying replicate the halo 3 campaign and multiplayer experience.
Halo 5 was a step in the right direction, but it was hardly a return to form. Admittedly, and as much as I loved Reach, it started the awful trend of incorporating twitch shooter mechanics into Halo.
AA and advanced mobility are not innovations anymore, and there are plenty of ways to innovate on the classic equal starts, slower paced, arena shooter style than morphing arena shooters into twitch shooters. What I mean here are more in depth gamemodes and maps. Bungie tiptoed in this direction with Last Resort and High Ground but abandoned the ideas in their infancy.
This can run the risk of making overly gimmicky modes that lack replayability, but if they are done well they can be very successful.
And besides all of this, there are two more important points to consider: 1. Twitch shooters are now so overly saturated they’ve become a meme, and 2. DOOM proved that arena shooters can still compete without over the top action and wall running, knife throwing, 300 mph speeds.
For some reason, once CoD dominated the market, people forgot that arena shooters and twitch shooters were two different kinds of FPS games. Halo and CoD, while competing FPS series, are ultimately not the same games from a basic gameplay standpoint and would (and have) lost much of their popularity when they try too hard to emulate each other (see Halo 4 and 5 not coming anywhere close to 3 and Reach’s population numbers over the long term, and how CoD IW was a huge dumpster fire from a marketing standpoint).
God I hope not. H5 is a chore to play, which I’ve never felt while playing a Halo game in my life. If it is then it will just be another game i put down after a few months.

I luv classic halo… but Halo 5 multiplayer Rocks… and spartan charge and ground n pound feel soo good… Let classic halo be that… and also have a halo 5 multiplayer progression be that
