should halo infinite multiplayer be like halo 5? give a reason why?
I’ve been a Halo player from the start (2001) so I (as expected) prefer classic style, but I thought Halo 5 MP was still great. It felt pretty different from classic Halo sure, but it was fun. If Infinite is like that, so be it imo. Plus, as unpopular as it sounds to hardcore fans, I don’t think classic style appeals to modern gamers as much. For the longevity of the game it (somewhat unfortunately) does have to adapt to appease newer generation of players.
I don’t mind if I’m wrong about this (would prefer it in fact) so if anyone disagrees please correct me.

People can complain about how Halo 5’s multiplayer “wasn’t classic enough,” but it did retain the most steady population since Halo 3 (According to Bravo). One could argue that the stream of content updates had a role in that, but it’s important to recognize that new content won’t make players come back if the gameplay isn’t good.
No, halo 5 multiplayer has ads, sprint, and to much emphasis on 4v4 and warzone. I would like it to go back to basic gameplay with alot of gametypes and maps for said gametype like highground for 1 flag. (I really hope they bring back 1 flag)
I hope it wont be.
The worst things were probably the armor abilities though wasnt much of a fan of ads mechanics in Halo either.
It doesnt have to be exactly like classic gameplay where core mechanics were simple and the variations could be acquired during the match if that was the name of the game, but it could maybe get rid of some mechanics or make them optional for different gamemodes.
I don’t want it to. I want a good classic inspired Halo. H5 is a good game, but not a good Halo game.
Should it? I dunno. I quite enjoyed the feel of Halo 5. Certainly more than Reach or 4. I wouldn’t mind if things went back to the simpler setup of 1, 2 and 3, but I am a firm believer in pushing forwards and trying new things. We wouldn’t have had Halo: CE if Bungie tried to stick with what had worked before.
I’ve personally wanted wall-running and stuff in since Halo 2. Mirror’s Edge-type stuff. I could do without spartan charge or the ground pound.

I really hope not, I literally complain every time I play H5, I’m level 149…I don’t want the trend to continue, I’d rather we get back to classic Halo because H5’s multiplayer is pretty stressful.
i for one like the idea of thrusters and smart link because well there new spartans and new tech so if any thing keep thrusters and remove stuff like ground pound. its a new era in halo, people cant just expect it to be 2552 forever. halo is great and the multiplayer for halo 5 is amazing so 343 should just change the story and make it better!!!
Hello, I have been a Halo fan since Halo first came out. I have loved it’s gaming essence, both campaign and multi-player. I feel that things need to change in multi-player. Many of my friends and myself find that there should be running, customize your load out’s, similar to COD. I feel certain that if changes such as these came to be reality, a newborn surge for Halo will be evident.

remember halo and cod are enemies. plus they already tried those in halo 4 and it did not work. the multiplayer was too out of balance.
I dont think it should but instead more of a hybrid of the original trilogy gameplay with some modern innovative mechanics. If this gonna be a return to a former form of classic and modern artstyle the gameplay should reflect that.
Preferably not, no.
You can have things like sprint and clamber as an option for custom games, but don’t build the core mp experience around them please.
I think it will be a tweaked halo 5. I think Spartan charge and ground pound are out. Thrusters will stay. No I don’t know if they will go for a faster base movement speed and take out Sprint or leave Sprint in. I think halo 5 had bad maps rather than mechanics.
I agree about maps. But I am a sucker for the spartan charge and ground pound. I think they are incredible elements that make Spartans feel so much cooler than they already were. It makes sense that they would have these capabilities, being able to smash into the ground or charge into the enemy. It’s a risk be reward function in the game I feel improves the gameplay. If you are skilled with these abilities you can make for some awesome kills you normally wouldn’t get without them. However if you are careless you make yourself an easier target. I have wiffed so many times with spartan charge however overall it can pay off with a satisfying kill. It’s a terrible feeling when you miss but it’s all apart of the game. Like when theowing a grenade. You can hope with enough skill and control you can knock out a spartan or you luck out and don’t make an impact. It results as a waisted grenade. Same as the spartan charge or ground pound. I don’t think they should be taken away but I can understand if they should be tweaked and worked with to smooth out gameplay.

What’s with a lot of people saying they’ve been playing Halo since Combat Evolved? Is it to look impressive or something? Because I refuse to believe that people been playing since the very first Halo, maybe 2004 or 2007 but can’t be 2001

It’s usually to try to bring some credibility as a veteran. It’s anecdotal though.
Why can’t it? Halo CE came out in November 2001.
I would like to have a mp with an option of choosing the modern H5 mp and the classic H3 mp. I hope we can get all the Halo weapons we had in the previous games and the iconic armours, not so much variants.
Been around since CE. Love advanced movement and infinite Sprint. Feels like a real Spartan should. Can’t imagine a new Halo without it.
