Should Halo: CE have another remake?

When Halo: CE was remastered on Xbox 360 it was shown as a great way to boost popularity of Halo and would please the old schoolers as well. As myself is apart of the older generation of Halo players I grew up with Halo:CE and was attached quickly. As shown as in the MCC with the help of Xbox one’s next generation Graphics and FPS, do you, the fans think that Halo: CE should get remastered again with the technology of the Xbox one? Or has the damage of the poorly executed MCC diminished our trust for 343i? Please let me know down below.

No. Maybe for the 20 Anniversary but I’m perfect content with what we have. We got Halo CE Anniversary for Xbox 360 then we got it again in the Master Chief Collection. That’s more than enough for now. I’m perfectly happy with what we have <3

Halo 1 definitely deserves a remake. The version on the MCC is the inferior PC port and the 360 anniversary edition only lets you play 4 multiplayer maps. We need a remake that keeps the gameplay exactly the same as the original with these additional features: updated graphics, online play, map creator. Also they should make sure it supports LAN play without having everyone have to sign into Xbox live. I’d pay $200 for that game.

That’s the part that is incredibly frustrating because that’s not something 343 can control, that’s a Microsoft thing. Microsoft built the Xbox One WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO LAN! They were so dead set on everyone being online as much as possible that they took it out. I run a video game business where we setup LAN’s and tournaments so we picked up 16 Xbox Ones on launch day assuming we’d be able to continue what we had been doing with the 360’s. That wasn’t the case. We’ve tried everything and there is simply no way to LAN with Xbox One’s. It’s even more maddening because 343 (Halo), The Coalition (Gears of War), and Treyarch, Activision, and everyone else involved with Call of Duty, advertise and include a “LAN” option in their games. 343 advertises that their Halo Championship Tournaments are LAN, THEY’RE NOT! It’s false advertising and people don’t know the difference. The only part of the Halo tournaments that fall under the LAN category is that everyone is, physically, in the same room and under the same roof. Every Xbox still needs and internet connection and every player an Xbox Live Gamertag.

Its incredible frustrating and, if you couldn’t tell, still upsets me

Wow, I had no clue that was the case. That’s unbelievable you can’t LAN. I agree with everything you said. Playing online is fun but there’s something special about getting everyone together in the same room to play. It becomes a little less special without the smoothness of it being LAN though…

I’ll revise my statement then. I’d pay for a new console capable of playing the game I described and then however much they want for the game itself.

Right?!!? There’s no reason Microsoft should have taken out the ability to LAN. Computer Gaming has always been years ahead of Console Gaming yet they still enable the ability to LAN. It’s just not right.

I’m getting off subject though. I’d love to see another CE Anniversary Remake but realistically, I hope it waits until the 20th year anniversary

I completely agree. Halo 1 deserves a proper remake, and one that isn’t complete -Yoink- like the one that we did get. I expected a lot more from 343i and they kinda fixed it with MCC, but not enough.

I feel your pain! I did not know this when I purchased the XBOX one, or that they removed split screen from H5. Extremely disappointed, putting it mildly.

Back on topic. I have to say no. I already have the original, the remake, and MCC.

Oh god yes. Please, Halo CE is one of my favirote games of all times.

Right? Its very disappointing.

And yes, between the original, CE Anniversary, and MCC, three is more than enough for now

No. I think one remake is enough.

Halo CE anniversary hasn’t really aged well and I wouldn’t be upset to see it redone to look like H2A. Right now I’d prefer Halo 3 to get the remake than Halo CE but if they did remake Halo CE again it should only be a graphical update.

Maybe in 2031 or 2051, then there are probably many new Halo players wanting to play something original and we will have collection with every Halo game released to that point. I can’t even think what kind of technoly there will be by then and what Halo will look with it!
