Should Halo be Outscourced to other companys

This just question how about 343 giving licensees to other studios and see what they can develop many studios do this and be interesting see what we get. Because 343 can focus on Halo like Reclaimer saga and other studios could do other games spin offs maybe get Lego Halo or Halo Republic Commando this be interesting idea and i wonder what kind game you guys hope see if 343 outsources and gives license out.

They already do this

  • Halo Wars 2 was developed with Creative Assembly - Master Chief Collection was created with help from multiple companies like Saber, Certain Affinity and Ruffian - CEA was developed by Saber - For Halo 4, 343 and MS contracted Certain Affinity to work on Forge, co-develop War Games and they also worked on map packs

If H6 sucks they definitely need to someone else carry whit the legacy temporary just my opinion

I would like to see more spin off games handled by other companies. But I think the main line games should be made by 343.

They should get a company that actually listens to the followers of the game and one that had a actual support team to address and handle issues as needed. And MCC was an -Yoink!- and 343 does not help or answer players issues.

It would be interesting if they gave a company free reign to make a spin-off with just some basic guidelines. I doubt that would happen though since MS might replace 343 with them if it turned out to be a huge hit, lol.

But this is kinda what they’ve been doing all along. First MS gave Bungie (ignore the fact that they’re the original developer) a brief to produce a filler game with a limited budget and a short development cycle - ODST. Then Bungie gave 343 a brief to produce map packs for Reach. Then, as already noted, various different companies were tapped to provide varying amounts of support for Wars, anniversary titles, MCC, Wars 2, and I doubt very much that Assault or Strike were developed in-house. And we haven’t even talked about Halo Online or Installation 01.

And honestly, 343 at this point, with all the staffing changes that have taken place during its short life, is that other company that’s been brought in to move things along. Writing staff changes more often than most of us change our underwear, and the multiplayer team also has a lot of turnover. I’m not sure any of that means what people would like to think that it means, but there you have it.

They could have outsourced Halo 3: Anniversary like previous remasters, but clearly that wasn’t a priority.

I’d like to see more spin off FPS games instead of RTS ones. RTS is a niche genre very few Halo fans care for. Halo Wars has an okay story, but the gameplay isn’t exactly my cup of tea ;-(

Haven’t they already done this for a bunch of Halo games?

I was talking more about current times. If a developer was given free reign to make a Halo spin-off and it was amazing, then MS might consider them in the future to take on the main Halo games since 343 already made two plus MCC which they weren’t the best games imo. Then you also have H6 as well which remains to be seen if it’s good or not. I should also mention before this gets too serious that my original post was mainly meant in a joking manner.

no the just ban you on the forms for critiquing their game^

I’ve always believed that Halo’s AI should be outsourced to another company. As much as I enjoy Halo, the AI leaves much to be desired. When developers can’t make a challenging AI, they make the higher difficulty settings artificial by overclocking their health and damage dealt to the player, and 343 just takes this to the absolute extreme. Also, if they insist on having fireteams in campaign from now on, I’d like to have teammates who aren’t braindead.

I hope they don’t do fireteams again. Unless they want to do a spin off game centered around it. I don’t think it belongs in the main games.

Yeah, Halo campaigns have always had a lone-wolf sort of vibe to them and did really well. We could have teammates, but didn’t need them all the time. Only teammates we needed were the temporary marines with infinite rockets, and occasionally a friend to goof around with in split screen (ahem.) Unfortunately, this sort of change doesn’t seem like one that a game dev can go back on once they’ve implemented it, but we’ll just have to wait and see what they do with Halo 6.

I say they should do it more often than they already do. The franchise is already not what it used to be, so it can’t really hurt for them to just Halo everything up, right?
No, I’m being completely serious. Halo 2 Anniversary was mostly outsourced from what I understand and although the launch of it’s platform on the MCC was butchered, that game looks better to me than anything 343 has done to date. It looks similar to the newer style while retaining all of the original charm Bungie put into it.
Meanwhile, Halo 5 has plastic, lubed-up spartans running around in Iron-Man armor and Master Chief as basically a secondary character.
343’s games need to look more like H2A in my opinion, and if that takes outsourcing then do it. Halo’s been ugly since 2012-ish with the exception of that one.

Only issues with Outsourcing is either company needs know how BLAM Engine works or they got use there own engine or another engine like Unreal 4. That will probably be hardest selling point to get company’s want make a Halo game. I seen BLAM For Halo 5 and lot they say they ripped entire engine and rebuilt thats a half truth but really they kept H4 combat change weapon setting and added LB Buber trigger left movement quickly and add effect really not that great. AI where interesting becasue will Halo campaign was replaybe and AI always did different things. And that part Engine was really interesting hope 343 makes post about talking about changes to BLAM Engine.

Yes it would be a good move on 343’s part so as long as the game is able to function and is enjoyable.

I want them to give Telltale reigns on a Halo: Harvest story.
