I believe this to be the case on the fact that 343 has never put out a version of halo that lasted into their next iteration. This in my opinion is the definition of failing. If they were making good halo products, then they would not need to completely change the core mechanics with each new iteration. They clearly dont listen to complaints, so they are not changing their games due to community feedback. But then why are they changing them?
I for one think that halo should be headed by a studio that can bring it back to classic gameplay and art design. Then make improvements upon that existing sandbox. With the demo footage regardless of the build time (which in reality if they had something better to show, it being this close to launch they would’ve shown it), 343’s take on “classic look” is just low res textures.
No point in giving it to another studio. 343i isn’t some developer like Bungie or CDPR. They’re literally a part of Microsoft, and are in fact, Microsoft. Remember the xbox one reveal and how bad it was? Microsoft didn’t get rid of the xbox brand and switch to a new console. They simply cleaned warehouse and got rid of the people that were in charge (Don Mattrick).
If they ever wanted to do the same here, no point in spending time and resources dissolving 343i. Just replace the people who come up with the ideas.
Nope I’ve seen this exact same reaction from the community time and time again this echo chamber of a forum really isn’t the place for sound decisions to be made really.

Gears plays more like gears than halo plays like halo. As simple as that.

I remember seeing a video on YouTube of Frank O’Conner at E3 saying that “they were making changes to Halo’s formula” and the interviewer asked “Are you concerned that these changes will piss some people off?” and Frank replied saying that “They are doing what they think are right for the franchise.”
This is why 343i will never change because they can’t admit that they were wrong these past 8 years. That is why they will never give us a classic Halo game. Microsoft needs to get rid of the 343i management or whoever makes the decisions there and replace them with people who actually like Halo and listens to the community.
I don’t think we need to get that desperate. I believe the decision makers are at fault here. Not the artists, programmers, musicians etc who are mostly doing what they re told. Remember that cancelled 2006-2007 Halo movie by Neill Blomkamp? That man and his team perfectly captured on film what Halo used to be back in the day; and managed to amaze people with it (see promotional live action Halo 3 trailers). It all comes down to the team deciding the style, theme and way a franchise is expressed…
343i are just another Bioware now. Appealing to lowest common denominator and caring far too much about their diversity. Their team looks like they’ve never played Halo before Halo 4. Just fire and replace
OP is clearly oblivious to the years of continued support provided to each game they have released. Where many other developers would have abandoned support almost immediately after the latest game hits the market.
For some reason I keep thinking of Nintendo’s ability to make visually stunning Zelda games flexing beautiful art design. Wind Waker is legit timeless, Twilight Princess had great dark outlines, Skyward Sword had beautiful water colors and Breath of the Wild is eye candy on a big nice TV.
What are the names of the individuals working on Infinite’s game art design?

That support is called their jobs… Just because they support their games, doesnt mean their games are good… halo 4 was literally let’s put call of duty mechanics in halo. Halo 5 was let’s pander to two sides and keep sprint, making maps wayy bigger than they should be. Spartans in halo 5 look worse than ever in game because their art style is cluttered with so much useless stuff that they had to downgrade the spartans that were in the beta.
