I’ve always enjoyed the evolution of Halo games in the classics but Reach and beyond has just left me being annoyed at the changes. Playing Action Sack has reminded me of the crazy amounts of stuff halo just has lying around. With Forge, Custom Games and plenty of gamemodes (343i…get on that) my friends and I kept playing Halo 3 until Reach released and still went back to it until everyone had the game and that took four months.
On topic let’s just say Halo 6 released today with the idea of becoming Gmod of the XBox. What would be the negatives? Both classic and new school fans could build whatever modes they wanted and play online with them. Those with an extremely creative itch like the Forge community would likely end up building entire worlds instead of playing in a sandbox.
Hardcore and casual fans can get what they want and the having some form AI builder system like DOOM (since there’s not better example out there fright now for building your own campaign) could allow for massive amounts of content variety.
Just release a massive game of physics and similar to Gmod have an off story about made from the engine like Half-Life or in this case Campaign.
Being completely honest here, no matter what 343i does with Halo 6 it won’t be a true evolution of the game unless something like this happens. I don’t mean something drastic, I mean something meaningful. The armor and spartan abilities add another layer despite how much I don’t like them being in the game 24-7 but the layer crushes everything else because those mechanics are needed for the game to feel unique, which ironically make it feel bland.
Truthfully this is what Halo has been leading up too for years now and would eventually with proper guideline be able to become the idea what got so many people to buy Halo in the first place.
A world of alien killing that just doesn’t stop.
It would make sense, but there would be some limitations to how far you could go. The forge community is a beautiful thing and if 343 handles it properly, they have a never ending source of maps.

My point exactly and encouraging it even further can only help right?
They should be doing that with this iteration of forge. The community has been asking for Forge AI for quite some time now. The only reason (in my opinion) we’re not getting this is because they want to keep REQs locked behind Warzone as much as possible. If we had the power to design our own PvE experience no one would play WZFF making players less likely to blow money on REQ packs.

Yeah it’s sad how things in entertainment can’t really evolve. There’s always some strings or in this case steel cables holding the idea back in some way.
I like the sound of this. Personally community created content (mods I suppose, but I don’t want it to sound like I’m advocating cheating) for offline modes would be a great thing. Imagine if enough people could create content outside of Halo, like with Halo CE, and put it in the game with a similar fashion to Skyrim Remastered, I.E it has to be 343 approved to not hack online matchmaking. To prevent cheating no mods will be allowed to be active in matchmaking unless specifically authorized by 343 and Microsoft, but other than that people would be able to do what they want.
I’d be more than happy to settle with a weapon customizer (color skins, choose ammo count, type, and size); kind of similar to the weapon pad glitch. Pretty much everything you said covered everything else you said, at least to hope for with a new Halo
Honestly, I’ve been hoping since Reach that Halo’s multiplayer could become a lot more sandboxy in nature. With the right Forge tools, endless custom game options, and a dedicated server browser for custom games as well as a proper file share system, I think Halo multiplayer would be very enjoyable, and everyone could create gametypes, gamemodes, and maps that THEY want to play on, and not be limited to the dev’s vision on how the game should play. That was the best part of Bungie’s Halo games, was that you could practically play them however you want, but it seems 343 have done nothing but take steps backwards in this regard, when doing the exact opposite would benefit Halo much more.
