Should it?
You’re referring to the multiplayer?
It’s certainly interesting that 343 made multiplayer canon as training, sort of like Star Trek’s Holodeck, or X-Men’s Danger Room. I think it works well enough as an explanation to be the same in the next game.

Im pretty sure it was canonically training even before 343 took over, they made mention of it as far back as Halo 3.
I don’t see why not. If you can fit it into the canon somehow it makes things interesting.
But really its not a big deal. Its multiplayer after all.

I think it goes back as far as CE. Chiron TL-34 is supposed to be a Spartan training facility, if I remember correctly.

Aye, it was. People have never really gotten an answer for the “spartan clone training facility” title though.
I feel like the multiplayer being simulation thing really gets overblown by people.
It really changes nothing.
I like it. I also feel like 343i can go a little further too. Like maybe, what if breakout was an actual televised sport where athletes were given variants of black-market spartan suits to compete in, and it’s a super popular pass-time in the colonies?
The UNSC doesn’t like it, but because it keeps most of the colonies from getting restless and problematic, they’re willing to turn a blind eye as long as the spartan suits have lower level tech than current gen suits, and that there are tons of restrictions to prevent them from being fully weaponized (and those restrictions allow athletes to wear them without hurting themselves as if they had “real” spartan suits).
Just a thought…
Yes,it should. It gives more opportunitys for the lore.
Multiplayer as a function of a video game is incorporated into lore as “Live Fire/Simulated Training”, or something similar to incorporate holographics and hard light. It’s a nice way to make it feel more part of the universe than just a game mode.
The whole “Simulation” stuff dosn’t make sense in Halo 5 since are no more Spartan Ops
You can simply say that multiplayer is not-canon, people don’t really care about the “Lore” of the multiplayer
It doesn’t change a thing so I don’t get why not?
I don’t mind it, but didn’t 343 say that since it’s a simulation that all of the maps aren’t real places?
I wouldn’t mind some of each, like what if there was faction btb with official maps, playing as a promethean would be kinda cool, if it was balanced

Yes basically because the Spartans need training and marines and odst

Well some are like skirmish at darkstar that’s a real place in the halo universe we just haven’t seen it

Correct. A simulation is a projection not the real.thing
Yes ,we should also have simulations of past battles and play them like campaign.Fight against Insurrectionists, battles at Harvest,Reach,Onyx.
