Should halo 5 get XP challenges

Since Halo Infinite is releasing this year I know alot of us are grinding to finish to get to 152 so we can get that halo infinite surprise. I think they sholuld add weekly XP challenges into halo 5 to help out people geting to 152 rank since it takes awhile to get to. So the challenges would be anything to do with any weapon or vehicle. So it would be like get 10 splatters in a banshee or something like that or get ten kills with a energy sword and so forth. I think this would be a cool Idea if they added this into halo 5 to help out the people that are trying to get to 152. So what do you all think of this idea

They have XP boosts that you can slap on for this purpose. And most of them merely require you to finish the game to get extra XP.

Yea I know that but some people may not have xp boost and with the weekly challenge that can help them then it can also be double xp if you use the boost and complete the challenge

I think this wouldn’t be a bad idea. It would be very enjoyable to have everyone get to the max level before halo infinite arrives, but I feel like we have had a ton of time already. Like said, xp boosts do help if you use them wisely in matches, plus practice makes perfect. If you’re willing to do the grinding and have some fun, you would be able to make it to level 152 in not a very long time. I’m not saying xp challenges are useless, they could change the game a ton while we wait for halo infinite. The problem is, it wouldn’t be fair to players (Consider as OGs) who have already gotten to level 152 without any of xp challenges. If 343 added them now, I feel like the community would be disappointed and angry.

It’s probably too late to add challenges to H5. I think they’re adding challenges to MCC soon though.

Agree on the first part. Didn’t know about MCC… that would be great(and smart).

I highly doubt they would add challenges to Halo 5, but it would be a welcome addition to me. I think it’s unlikely because frankly, this is the first post I’ve ever seen on the subject.

Yeah they confirmed that in the last community update, sucks that it can’t be in h5, but cool that mcc finally gets this treatment.

Too late now I think since that would be a pretty big change to the way the REQ system works. XP boosts are the way to go. Hopefully Infinite’s system will be a rewarding one.

This game is a bit too old to add challenges and I feel like that’s just ripping off other games.

With the XP packs, challenges would be redundant. It’s also important to remember the negative aspects of very detailed challenges. I have very fond memories of people in Reach that where TERRIBLE with the jet pack that would get crushed all game just so they could complete the “Get 7 Kills With The Jetpack” challenge.

Would have loved to seen challenges when it first launched or shortly after, but adding them now just takes away from those who have completed the 152 grind. I’m not ok with that.

Reminds me of “contracts” used in the first Call of Duty Black Ops game. I honestly wouldn’t mind if they had a couple daily challenge things that allowed you to get extra EXP by completing it, like the whole “kill 5 enemies with headshots using a sniper rifle” or “get 3 kills with the Shotgun in a single life” kinda stuff. I also remember they didn’t always require these to be completed in the same match either, like some of the ones that were like “get 50 kills with the assault rifle” meant to get those kills in general in any match (probably not including the campaign, but I can’t remember that much).

But if Infinite is keeping the same method of earning and using points to unlock things like helmets and armor, I definitely wouldn’t mind something like that being in the Halo games. But I’d still prefer unlocking stuff by completing certain requirements compared to “keep playing to earn points, win or lose, and then you’ll be able to spend them on what you want!” practice, as I don’t feel like I’m “earning” things as much as it being an item I get just because I keep playing or something.
