Should Halo 5 come to the PC as well?

First and foremost, I have to admit that I’m a Halo newbie. As a PC player, I always wanted to play Halo, but never got the chance to play any of the games. Yes, Halo CE and 2 did come out for the PC platform, but nowadays they are hard to obtain and install. I was so excited when the MCC was announced for PC and I had a blast playing Reach and now the original Halo CE. I’m really looking forward to playing Halo 2, 3, ODST and 4 as well when they come out and Infinite with it’s direct PC release means that 2020 is probably going to be the year of Halo.

But there’s one big problem:
Where is Halo 5?
I can’t wrap my head around the idea that it hasn’t been announced yet for PC. For me, I really want to get the whole experience and while I know that Halo 5 didn’t have the best campaign, it’s still part of the bigger picture. I know that Halo Infinite is supposed to be a soft reboot, but I still think that they won’t completely ignore what happened in Halo 5. Therefore, it feels extremely unsatisfying to know that at the current time, 343 and Microsoft have no official plans to bring Halo 5 to the PC. I mean how can you release every existing title up to Halo 4 and announce a direct PC release for the next entrance, but not release the current title for PC? It’s outrageous, it’s unfair!

I don’t think that they should release Halo 5 as part of the MCC, since it’s not really a legacy title, but rather as a separate game (hopefully on Steam as well) after they are finished with dropping every title of the MCC. I’m not really into game development and don’t know much about how much work it would need, but since the engine, with a lot of assets, is already usable on PC with Halo 5: Forge, I can just imagine that it wouldn’t be a big stretch to release the rest of the game on PC?

But what do you think? Would you also like to see Halo 5 coming to PC?

All Xbox games should be on PC.

It will likely get announced after Infinite releases if it is coming to PC.

I almost guarantee you it will be released in an update to the MCC with the Xbox Series X. They would never put this much effort into updating and maintaining the MCC if they weren’t planning to keep it going until the end of time (or money), it just doesn’t make sense.

I think its more likely than not that H5 will make its way to PC, but I doubt they would bother adding it into the Master Chief collection. Adding it to the MCC would over complicate things, and if they did that it would have to be added to the MCC on Xbox since MS has really been pushing the cross platform profiles and data. It makes the most sense to release it as a stand alone title especially since it would double the size of the MCC!

Could be both. I mean the MCC included all games that were not natively available on Xbox One. When the Xbox X releases, Halo 5 will technically also be a legacy title. Therefore, it could be added to the MCC. But I still think that IF they release it for PC, which I hope, it will be released separately apart from the MCC.

Originally this would have made no sense back in the day but since MS has changed their business plan, -Yoink- it.
