Should Halo 5 bring back the hornet

i think they should, for machinama purposes i know their are prefabs but still

It would be nice but considering we have the Wasp I doubt they would

The Wasp and Phaeton both outclass it in every way. Passengers would be the only thing that the Hornet has over them, and even then they’re not very effective given the limited field of view and distance from the ground. Also flying triple kill, but not as bad as the Falcon would be.

No. Both the Wasp and Phaeton fill the same role while catering to two playstyles. Plus the passengers would be useless.

If we are to get any sort of new aircraft, it needs to be a fighter jet or ground assault like the Banshee. We’ve had too many VTOLs in Halo’s past.

I think it would just be pointless as it just being a wasp that has a little more armor and two useless passengers.

The only use the hornet would have would be air drop assaults. (I would love this) jumping into an enemies’ base would be so fun.

Yeah, but there’s no real benefit to that on any of the Warzone maps. You’re better off just clambering onto the roof. There’s no cover in the airspace on most Warzone maps, and it’s the same issue with the Falcon: neither of them are fast or have an evasive ability to dodge AA fire. They’d get cut down in seconds.

I know you can clamber on the roof. I meant it would be great transport from one half of the map to the other.

Again, you’d be shot out of the sky in seconds. It’s not worth the risk of a Triple Kill for some transportation.

I really think seconds is not a valid estimation.

They definitely won’t come back in h5 but I’m really hoping it replaces the wasp in h6 and the cyclops from halo wars replaces the mantis.

Maybe for Halo 6, but not for 5

Yes. The Wasp is garbage. It’s armor is made of tissue paper, and it’s machine guns are oh so weak. It’d be nice to have a UNSC flying vehicle that can better compete with the likes of the Phaeton and Hornet.

But I had another idea for a UNSC flying vehicle… the Nightingale from Halo Wars 2. It would be useful, since it could launch repair drones at your teammate’s vehicles to restore them to full health. It would be especially useful in Warzone Firefight. Just a thought.

Okay first off, the Nightingale is a healing unit and that won’t work in an FPS as a vehicle the player can actually use

Second, the Wasp is not suppose to be a late-game vehicle. It’s an aerial ghost. Treat it like that and you won’t die to much.

Way too late in game by now. Maybe in Halo 6 if they decide to reuse old UNSC tech to defeat Cortana.

I luv flying the Hornet.

The Hornet is best left in UNSC museums, alongside the Falcon.

I would like to see more aerial vehicles with the following names:

  • Mosquito - Bumblebee (I know an escape craft is named after it in CE) - Swallow - Crow - Buzzard

The Cyclops would be sweet, and a good counter to the Scorpion. It’s an anti-vehicle unit in HW2.

I’d rather see the return of the Falcon, a vehicle that forced teamwork onto players. Teamwork seems to be lacking more than ever these days.

This. Maybe they could make some Hornet variants as well?
